We've already seen the teaser. Let's have some fun at this and guess what jon's picking up next. Please post your best guess as to what you think he has purchased and will be receiving.
You guys are all missing it...he likes the grunt of the v12's (as evidenced by the Muira) and he is definitely a 60's-70's guy and he likes impractical exotics since he can do the work himself. That has daytona written all over it!! He's not into air conditioning so I would guess a spyder either original or cut. That's it- a sure thing!! Plus he was talking about a trade ....so if he sold thru an F dealer it is even more obvious that it would be a Ferrari!!!!
I vote for an old race car. That would be a real challenge and should be a blast afterward. I watched a lot of them drive to the Santa Barbara Road Races, race, have dinner at the Harbor Restaurant and head back to LA. A TR, etc. from the 50s/60s would be about right. Looks like he is going to be a Weber expert before the Dino is done. Good experience. John
He already has a Miura and disclosed that already, then again it was a loooong way back in the 50+ pages on that forum. He just showed us images of a black 246GT Dino. Jon, is that correct? I guess you wouldn't have to re-label any of those bins that you've been using to gather systems upon disassembling...
Okay, I thought I was getting a project. Obviously not. I saw this car on Sheehan's site and immediately called and made a deal involving my Spider, which I was not planning on keeping, only using as my study model for my restoration project. This car is a 73 gt with factory flares, according to the Dino registry there were 5 USA GT Flares cars. I love the lines of the coupes and with the flares it made it a little more unique. I bought it sight unseen, only a few pictures and a description of it being a driver. It got delivered at night so I really didn't get a good look at it. I spent 2 days giving it a first detail. I was amazed at the condition of it and I'm hard to please. This car is stunning. About the only major flaw is the bald dash. So it looks like this one will only get better with more cleaning. I will be keeping and driving this one!! It was yellow originally Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
+1, looks spotless. Do the wheels have both the "Campagnolo" and "Dino" in raised script? The added "Ferrari" rear badge is in nearly the same place as Corbani's. You two need a photo shoot together.
Not a "project car" to be sure, the new black GT is positively beautiful. Congratulations! I agree that the pure lines of the GT are incomparable, but you are fortunate enough to have the option to drive either. Enjoy!
Hard to believe that's a "driver!" Should we just start calling you Dino-man? Congratulations, it looks like a great buy. Your threads make up a great deal of why I come to FerrariChat.
What a great looking car, congrats. Only project there is to drive and enjoy it. Can't wait to see both Dino's side-by-side.
Black is black, I want my baby back! Now i know i've made the correct desicion to return my car to it's original black (20-B-50 Salchi) colour i've agonised for months over doing this but seeing this car makes it all signed and sealed. Beautiful car John, great choice.
Very nice. Stunning in fact. wasn't sure I liked the black/gray intially in the interior, but upon reflection. All I can say is WOW!!! Dave
Beautiful car Jon. Condition of paint is spectacular. Reflections are sharp as a tack. Looks like the muffler rubber mounts may have let loose. Think muffler is about 1/2 " low. Interior carpet and seats look good. Dash could use freshning as does mine. Don't see any air injector plumbing. What is in and what is out? You are going to have a beautiful pair. Let us have all the details. John
I think I at least have an idea of what OMGJon's next projets will look linke Image Unavailable, Please Login
You got it exactly. I was fortunate enough to see this one as it rolled out of the paint booth today. The best color on a Miura!
