Well, tried searching here and I'm finding a lot of links that don't work any longer. Can someone please point me in the right direction for a workshop manual. A parts manual would be great too.
Sorry, I am analog, not that computer savvy!
    Thanks

    John

Have you tried this? I'm pretty sure the GT4 manual is all there ever was prior to the QV/328 manuals.

If your 1979 308GTS is a US version, the 161/78 SPC at that same https://ferrari.cdyn.com site is the correct one for your car. You should also get the 150/78 OM -- has a lot of good technical information -- here's a pdf link for the 150/78 OM (but you should really get a hardcopy IMO):

The best you can do for a technical documentation package for a 1978-79 US version 308 GTB/S is 308GT4 WSM + 161/78 SPC + 150/78 OM

Yep for mechanicals the 1976 thru 79 GTB/S were still using the earlier 308GT4 Book.

I have the Parts Book for the 308GTB/S.....but it would be a lot to copy
The TECH Bulletins is almost as thick!!

There are some publications that will lead you to think they are Manuals but they are only minor updates on the wiring diagrams, as smog stuff became more involved....

    Thanks for all the help.
Got both downloaded, printed and soon to be bound in a binder.
I have replaced the rear rotors and new calipers. I was trying to figure out how to re-shim them correctly.

Sometimes the Manuals can be far less than detailed, perhaps a new thread with just the shim question would bring the experts.

    I'm afraid "I don't know".....

Yes, adjusting brakes would be better as its own thread.

Are you referring to some sort of internal shims within the calipers? If not, the rear brakes are manually adjusted.

The 308 has the same Ate rear brake calipers as a Porsche 914-6. Eric Shea of PMB Calipers Inc has posted a detailed description on how to do this adjustment. 914 Rear Caliper Adjustment Procedure

He has also posted on FChat the procedure for rebuilding 308 brakes: 308 Rear Caliper Rebuild Thread
