Well my friend, not to rain on your parade but it that is for oil filters, it will be completely useless on a 355
And a couple more... Catching up slowly to adding a proper tool setup to work on any of our cars. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
We’ll be using it on multiple cars - German, Italian, British, but please post a link on what you recommend for our 355. Thanks Dave. And it is indeed raining today. Robb
I am looking for a Cavallino 3-D wall piece like this for the garage: Image Unavailable, Please Login Need one in black or silver chrome around 24” tall. Emailed the red horse shop in Maranello. I don’t remember seeing these for sale last time there. If you have an extra one for sale, send me a pm. Thanks. Robb
For a Ferrari, you need a tool that you can use a torque wrench on. With a 355, there is no side clearance. We have something in the works better than the current options
Well I have three sizes of torque wrenches coming.... Looking forward to what you pull together for the stooges. Keep us in the loop. Robb
I dont see why that oil filter tool would not work but I just use the socket type For install I just do it by hand.
Up to the 95s and the challenges have lots by the look of it. I guess depends on how long handle is. Let us know Robb Its quite possible Daves correct. It is just not as obvious to me.
My Indie shop mechanic uses the one from facom. I purchased it because I knew it can work - even if it’s a pain in the ass.... I know what dave’s Talking about and have my checkbook ready for his newly designed product. Robb
Keep in mind, the filter also needs to be torqued to spec and you are not going to do it with that tool
Dave, I know you're OCD, but I've been using this on my 355 and 308 to remove the filter and then tighten the new one by hand, not to mention every other car I own with w screw on filter. I've never had a problem or leak. Of course, I do have a calibrated wrist the clicks at the prescribed torque. And yes, I'm really bored. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah - looks like it would fit just fine I know....a little more room with a 95 - see, again 95 is better Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dave, as soon as you have something, knowing the quality of your accessories, definitely count me in for one.
Yet another reason the 2.7 is superior to the 5.2. But from Dave's picture I imagine I could get my hand in there to the right of the inlet duct, just in front of the TPS. Remember, you just have to crack the filter loose. Dave, where is your high voltage warning sticker? Image Unavailable, Please Login
John - since you are bored - go stir the pot at the 456 TDC thread (looks like 5.2's don't have the sticker)
Maybe we need a new thread. Reason why the 95 is better. 1) No OBD II. 2) No bypass valve TC/TCU. 3) No post cats O2 sensor. 4) Dual ECUs (if you loose a TDC sensor you can nurse it home on one bank). 5) No immobilize. 6) Better access to oil filter. 7) Everybody know having the original edition is cool.
There are 100's of wrench types that will fit in there. There is a mile of room and the filter is so easy right on top...2.7 or 5.2. If people need torque wrenches for oil filters other hobbies/professions beckon. I'm with John on this one. Image Unavailable, Please Login
(The Constitution is not a menu. You can't just accept the parts you like.) Please note - Ferrari specifics a torque spec for oil filters.
Nope you are a product of the times. You have to use your brain. You have to use what you learn with what you experience and formulate an appropriate response. You don't get the same response every time as you should be constantly learning and experiencing. A smart guy gets "A-HA moments". Other's paralyzed with indecision, always look for the instruction book in fear of making a mistake. When you don't know or "understand why " then yeah like the Ferrari way ... cam timing comes to mind. http://weeklyworldnews.com/headlines/43945/how-to-use-a-toilet-class-taught-at-colleges/ Maybe you can make a toilet seat that is clearly a seat and have a whole new profit center? Well I am open to new tools and means and methods. Toilets or wrenches - Let's not crap all over this thread! Robb
