I love that car Robb! I remember it being advertised here many, many, years ago. I thought it was one of the best color combinations I had ever seen and still do.
I do clearly remember the ad saying that the ecu(s) were chipped so you may want to look into that.

As for the carpets please leave them as they are. The car is only original once and I think they lighten up the interior and match the front trunk. How may miles are on the car?

Car has 41k miles which I’m not really worried about. While I would have liked a 6k mile car, I would not have found a blue one like that I think... so it was more important to find the best spec. I got my cream puff in my one owner aston martin with 7k miles anyway.

I also really hoped for a 95. To see what Elliott in Australia has done with restoring his cars, or Dave Lelonek or others here shows me that I can do similar things with my cars. I just need to do one thing at a time and enjoy the process.

The records from owner #2 show him putting on a challenge exhaust, hyper flow cats, and ceramic coated fabspeed headers. At that time, they also modified the ECu for this setup claiming 425 hp. I doubt the hp numbers is the case so I will likely go back to the drawing board and return it to factory setup or challenge setup on timing etc... but I don’t need a tuner setup... :D

Likely will put on tubi headers, straight pipes and a capristo.

I will have a look at any engine needs at the next engine out. Valve guides were already done back in time. It will be due in 2-3 years.

The engine bay cleaned up very nicely with what Rick showed me. So there aren’t any areas of the car that are sub-par. It shows much better than most cars I see with 20k miles. It’s been taken care of.

I’ve got my list of to-do items and will start hitting them one at a time.

I would certainlly change the ECU's back to normal. A straight-piped exhaust would be stunning!

Yeah never had any regrets over the standard ECU setup in the yellow car or our others...

How does the '95 compare with the later model car?

That’s been discussed here to death.

Newer cars have most refinement. But I prefer 95 for emissions benefits and lack of alarm fobs.

    Give me a 1995 or a 1999

Will have to get our cars together someday. Maybe I will tow it out for Barrett in January or just a cruise. I unfortunately am keeping the miles down on it and not many to play with . I guess I could get a two car trailer and bring both

This 355 is so nice, great pick-up Robb, a very beautiful car! Some great drives to come in that one. Keep me posted on your Brooklyn trip this summer.

    Amazing.

    Congrats to you!

Some say don't buy the story, buy the car...I like the story AND the car. I think the story makes the car even more important.

Amazing find, enjoy it in good health.

The scenic drives will be very nice. One goes right by my house and the canyon lakes.

I am looking forward to some parts of the event.

Then you won't have to call in my friend Felix and his crew to tune your car...

I guess I’ll keep the Castoro carpets... and go with a DEEP clean to help them out as best I can to fight the dinge...

I’ll just add a set of black floor mats for my driving outside of classiche / concours...

I’m purchasing a spare set of OEM floormats in black from Dave Lelonek.

If someone also has a like new set of oem mats in beige for sale - please contact me. The current ones i have in the car are flaking material on the backside.

    Robb,
Hilarious. I saw that car in March, and actually drove away from the event with it before waving to the owner as he went one way and I went the other. Two blue Ferraris in downtown Seattle. :)

And then to find out you bought it. haha.

I didn’t get a pic but here is a pic of my car at the event and your car in the red circle thereabouts. I even remember talking to the owner about the color. hah.

Actually, I found a pic on my phone taken last May at one of the events here in Redmond.

And, I think the red calipers look better than yellow would. :)

Lot of stuff to take care of this morning.

But I got to relax and head out for a beautiful afternoon drive til sunset.

Finally got to shoot photos of the car in full AZ sun. The color and intensity changes as you walk around the car... From very dark with bright highlights to bright with dark lowlights... lol. I'm a believer of the power of the pearl. I'm not sure what other brands have used it in their paint. Saw that Audi had some for the R8's and RS4's.

And very happy to get the car titled and get my old plates back on the new car.

Smile from ear to ear - no doubt.
