This is Robb's search but just to talk about it for a bit, my favorite blue combo from this era would be Blu Sera with Beige interior. Nart Blue nor Pozzi Blue were options during this time, right? I'm guessing with US 328 there was more Azzuro Blu than Blu Sera, yes, no? -F
I sold 60949, cited in the quote, on March 19th, 2018 locally in Vancouver. It was blu sera originally with nuvola interior. The interior had been re-dyed in a similar color and the seat had dried. I had the interior completely re-trimmed by a "go to" craftsman (does upholstery work for RX Autoworks with some Pebble Beach cars to his crdeit). He couldn't precisely match "nuvola" so we used "Jaguar Pale Blue" hides. The car was originally from Ron Tonkin, then on to Seattle. I imported to Canada from Seattle. It was an excellent driver quality car, not concours but very presentable, and I thoroughly enjoyed it over 5 years including regular driving all year long, day trips to Whistler, and weekend road trips. The buyer posted a few times on F-Chat prior to purchase but not since. I assume the car remained in Vancouver area, although I have not seen or heard of it. I priced it as a 75,000 mile car for sale locally, about US $45K, advertising it it only on Craigslist. It had a lot of interest and sold quickly. I wasn't surprised the the level of interest, given it's price, but I was surprised at the number of people who really preferred the blue over red. Here's a video of the car during ne of my weekend trips and a copy of the ad. Although I don't see another Ferrari in my future, it was a long-time dream and definitely a tick off the bucket list. I occasionally check the 308/328 section. Jon
Pushing in the bumpers on a 308 isn't a big deal if that's your only issue with a 308 vs 328. I've been driving a blu chiaro 308 with pushed in bumpers for 11 years now. I was shopping for a red one, but when I saw the blu chiaro there just was just nothing better looking to me.
So, from my note and beleive from solid source even all are not confirmed. That is my Blue US type GTS list today. Of course there are hundreds cars for which I know Nothing. That's what I'm talkin' about! Bellisima! There you Robb. Now how much work do you want to do? I prefer concave wheels to convex, but that's just me. -F
Blue Sera/beige was great but the very best looking 328 I ever saw was white with a 2 tone brown all leather interior. It looked like a chocolate cake with white icing. It is #82960. 82959 was blue sera with beige full leather. We ordered them at the same time and requested 82960 be the last US car. We missed by 1. I looked high and low for 82960 when we were in the market to no avail. It popped up here a couple of years ago in the hands of a dealer I know.
Wow. Love the description of the white/brown car. Yeah off color 328 can be great. The last US 328 GTB was verde, so go figure, not my fav. though. Blue would have been nice. -F
Sorry for the delay in responding. Been a busy two days at work photographing bank hq interiors. I really haven’t seen any blues that looked bad on the 328. I would be open to any of them. Blu Sera would def be a favorite followed by blu chiaro. Bullfighter and I STILL talk of Blue Sera on the 328... I remember Ferrari of Denver had one but it had been in an accident... The darker colors would be a better fit for me in AZ since the sun is so bright there. Loved blue medio but always thought there was like “one” car in that color... I’m just going to keep my eye out in all the usual places. And cross my fingers that one crosses my path here or there. Once things slow down further on the Ferrari as “investment side of life” then people will get tired and be more likely to let them go to the enthusiasts and move on. Could be a good day... with reasonable results. Robb
I also appreciate the commsraderie and assistance with 328 owners and 355 owners. I know that it helps that I’ve owned each model and contributed heavily to both sections... But I posted similarly on the 360 / 430 section and... Nothing but Silence. Great. Waiting for the ravens to circle overhead. Robb
I said that over 20 years ago about Hemi Mopars and vintage Harley Davidsons. I am still waiting. What you just described will not happen until all those of us in our 40's, 50's and 60's are dead. Buy ASAP, the timing will never get better.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login This 328 is local to me in NY. Not for sale though, as far as I am aware.
I really love the look in the darker blues. Sitting here in the garage watching the new Netflix F1 original series... And can’t get enough of the blue... Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Had a fellow F-Chatter send me this link: https://usclassifieds4all.com/details.php?id=11855 Anyone know the car. Send me a PM. Not a fan of the blue interior. Not sure what was repainted. I'll inquire. I'd like to add a 328 but it may be an add down the road waiting until I find the right color. Leaning toward the darker colors. After a great get-together with Skipp in Charlotte over lunch with his 88 gtb, I was reminded that these models are not the largest inside. I really don't fit very comfortably compared to the newer cars. I kind of forgot what I had to adjust on my body to drive my silver 328 back in the day. So I will probably add a 360 or 430 first then circle back around to add the 328 once I find it in a darker blue. Robb
Robb, That car, which is a US car, was for sale in the Netherlands a year ago: same pictures in the two adds, same mileage. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/ferrari/328/ferrari-328-gts-only-47-549-miles-rare-azzurro-metallizzato--blu-scuro-full-history-ferrari-classiche-matching-numbers/8863321# If my memory serves me well, but I'm not certain about this, I think I saw an add with the same car for sale about six or seven years ago, somewhere near Chicago (??). Rgds
...it was in 2010, on E-Bay motors; the car has exactly the same color combo, but with chromed wheels. Was it the same, I don't know. Rgds
Thanks Bertrand; I didn't have the chassis # at hand, so the probability was high, as the color combo is not exactly common, but you never know until it is confirmed. Rgds
Still on the search. Had a car lined up but the ppi showed more work needed than I preferred. Thanks for keeping links headed my way. Robb
As said by Bertrand in post #30, 67089 is for sale (no dog in this race, no opinion on the car) Rgds https://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-Ferrari-328-GTS/233195452839?hash=item364b8839a7:g:xmcAAOSwy6hcr5hY
Found my next Ferrari. Sorry to say it is not a 328 this go round but I’m sure I’ll add one in the future as it was the first f-car I fell in love with. Keep an eye out for my next road trip in my “adventures” thread. Robb
I am happy to have found my next car and it is Blu Blu Scuro Micalizzato But it is a rare F355 instead of a 328 this go round. Will be back to the search for that 328 in the near future. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
