Wow, thats a lots of snow - good for skiing Andrea, you are a real dude Rachel is hard working to dig out the Alfa while you walk around, enjoy the sun , snow and shot some pics Indeed unbelievable to see so much snow in March. Thanks for the very impressive pics.
Yeah I'm a real Italian dude!!! Anyway, in one of the pictures you see a dark BMW 5-series in the background... well I dug that out of the snow all by myself, using my own hands only: I left the shovel to Rachel, you see what gentleman I am???
Yes, you are an old school gentleman I`m very proud of you - you could be my bros My & Anjas very best regards to Rachel. We are both looking forward to meet you soon again and have lots of fun in the sun
Wow! And i was impressed with the 4cm of snow that we have here! Poor Rachel! She deserves some good care now! Ha ha!
That's really a lot of snow. But at least was the weather good! We had "only" ca. 20 - 30cm snow yesterday (and it snowed the whole day!). But today is the sun shining and all the snow is melting away And the good thing is that everybody is on strike. So nearly all roads were covered with snow. It took my family 7 hours to drive back from ski vacation in Switzerland (Graubünden). Usually you need max. 4 hours. And while they were standing on the Autobahn we had some fun with our cars on a very big parkingplace And I had already thought the season for such things was already over. Martin
Thanks, the car is a lovely '98 3.0 V6 24V with 220HP - one of the best modern Alfa engines. The engine is so smooth it revs linearly to 7000 rpm without any lumps or bumps - it feels like an electric motor. The car also handles very well, the GTV had a really good chassis thanks to the short wheelbase, stiff shocks and a complicated multi-link rear suspension with some active steering of the rear wheels. The system was so sophisticated and expensive that they abandoned it - neither the 156 nor the 159 feel so good. The advantage is that by inducing some steering of the rear wheels you can drive it like a rear-wheel-drive car, as the rear end will always turn in very sharply without any of the horrible understeer common with most FWD cars. The interior is black leather, the seats are very well made and the rest of the fittings are very solid, although the plastics are not as good as a BMW's. We are very happy with this little car and we'll probably buy another in the future, maybe one of the last 3.2 V6s. The new Brera is also very good but I don't like the Opel-GM V6 (it's not a real Alfa) and the fact that it's so heavy - the GTV is much quicker and more agile (it weighs 400 Kg less than the Brera!!). Andrea
The snow was incredible. It cancelled our train from Switzerland to Germany. 5 trains later, we arrived. I'm glad to be able to say that I was here during one of the biggest snow storms on record. Very cool.
