Car jacking in So-cal…. Looks like the airbags popped, I wonder if the owner is on here ? Only one Gialla Modena 456m left on the planet. ‘Sup with those funky headlights !? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Was this the car with a Lexus (?) engine? That one did have these headlights, amongst other less tastefull mods.
I presume the carjacker was a purist Ferrarista who couldn't stand the abuse of Pininfarina's most graceful lines being used for a clone, making sure to get it off the road once and for all? If not (or either case) he must have been a total idiot.
Odd that it looks like being on 550 wheels instead of the ghastly chrome ones in the ad, but I agree there cannot be two 456M's in yellow with those headlights.
Traded-out for something closer to Ferrari OEM wheels (but likely just "similar"). At the time of the ebay auction, it had "rimz". Consider this "loss" as a gain.
Well, the car was already a loss before it was rebuilt. I have to give the original rebuilder props for taking an abandoned and wrecked 456 with no motor and making a running vehicle out of it. Frankly, it didn't look bad at all, just different.
Rumor has it the mods on the car included that Lexus powertrain and then when the builder added the Tesla AI for autopilot, the car became self aware and then the ritual seppuku commenced?
Anyone know if this was originally a '99 or an '01? There were only two Giallo 456Ms and I'll mark this car as lost, dead, and gone on the register. As Mirek mentioned, now we're down to one. "There can be only one!"
Does Earl do Giallo? Bet they would..... Great post, btw. Quite hilarious and most of this crowd is probably old enough to remember seeing those ads before the paper yellowed!!
When we lived in Palos Verdes, CA in the early 60s, Dad actually had Earl Scheib paint his 55 Buick before selling it. For an extra $25 or so ("show car paint"), they would actually use good paint.
One of y'all need to jump on this! https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/pts/d/hawthorne-ferrari-456/7382388841.html Image Unavailable, Please Login
