No, the jury is still out. Sadly, despite the outcome last weekend it appears Kimi's best days are behind him and he no longer has the ability to transcend. A good number 2 driver takes points away from the other teams' #1 drivers. As a long time SF fan I wish it were different but Kimi will, on his best days, take points away from Rosberg but not Hamilton.

Quite a few folks seem too eager to put Kimi's poor results down to bad luck. Yet, those same people refuse to attribute his one good result to being the only driver on the superior strategy AND having two of the guys ahead of him go off. He was still nowhere near Lewis.

The team await further good results according to the recent F1 press. The team seem to favor keeping him, the effort he must show will be the decider. Nothing new in F1. I think he will get the option year myself.

Fair enough. And yes, I am fairly new. I really started to get into F1 a few years ago. I've been a huge Moto GP fan for much longer. The wife kids and I are flying out to Montreal on June 3 for 10 days and I will be attending the full weekend, while they will come for the race only. I'm pretty excited. It's my first F1 race and I understand Ferrari is supposed to have a major upgrade for the race. I'll be cheering on both Seb and Kimi. But, I'll be rooting for Kimi the most. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he is the oldest driver on the grid? I can relate, and I'm only 44........ hahahaah

Going to Canda should be great. Good track, great town and a likely result for the Scuderia.

My comment was more about the state of the F1 threads than anything else.

+1. In the end a motivated Kimi is a completely different driver. If he, as usual, looses his motivation ... :(

I hope that I'm wrong but I don't expect that we'll hear from Ian any time soon.
    If ever.
    A shame.

With thanks to those who PM'd & emailed me a little support, I've decided to give it one more go.....

TBH, I wasn't even lurking until this past weekend - I really thought I was done with the ongoing BS here, but 'missed' some of the more inciteful comments over the race weekend.

I will diligently ignore our well known trolls, and hopefully they won't get quoted too often, as that's what gets my blood pressure increasing.

As for Kimi, I'm still a believer that he's damn quick, but that final qualy lap on Saturday was complete and utter ****. I'd like to see him stay for 2016 though. Again, who's going to replace him? The line of names proposed here ranges from the 'possibly sensible' to the 'you've got to be joking'....

    Cheers,
    Ian

As long as you don't quote their nonsense, it's all good. ;)

I am of a similar vein but like to come here every now and then to pick up some of the latest info happening.

The Hamilton trolls ruin it and as this is a Ferrari site I'd like to think some latitude was given for the Tifosi.

I've always been a Massa fan but I think he lost it after Rubinho clobbered him with the springs from his suspension and Kimi seems to lack the drive.

I think the team management need to pull him aside and lay down the law.

I just watched his performance from 2007 and I think his performance now is on a par with then albeit with less enthusiasm, but with Kimi it's hard to tell if he had enthusiasm in the first place :p

I'd really like to see Dan at Ferrari as that would be great for me, I could start cheering for the scuderia again ......... the death of the team for me would be Vettel AND Hamilton :(:(:(

I think Jensen would be a good driver for the scuderia

I'm not a Kimi fan but I've got a bet running with Steve355F1 that Kimi will do better than Vettel (that is only because I don't like Vettel even more than Kimi  )

I am a longtime Kimi fan and would love to see him do well. I liked Webber, Coulthard, Barrichello and Massa.

Having watched motorsports for many years, however, I quickly tire of listening to the slower teammate's excuses. Eventually I have to conclude that he simply is slower.

Vettel maybe but kimi? Keep dreaming. He for the longest time was my favorite driver but his qualifying is always abissmal forcing him to start everh race on his back foot.
