Had him for an algorithms class last year. It was an online class but he'd return assignments late because he was always in the hospital. I talked to him a bunch of times and he was a really cool guy, knew a whole lot about the subject and was willing to help out. I ended up with a C in the class and would have had to retake it for grad school but he told the program coordinator why I got a C and that I didn't have to take it again. Found out today he passed away, he was 63. :( Its scary because he is quite a bit younger than my parents.

Sad to hear. Times like this it makes you realize how short life is. Enjoy it while you can. Cherish and value your friends and family, and stay true to yourself and your pay attention to your inner self happiness.

My condolensces for your teacher's family.

I am half in the mood to send a choicely worded letter to the university and the local paper asking why a little obituary or even a word was mentioned about the untimely death of one of the best professors. Its sad when the school's party status makes headlines and something like this doesn't.

Sorry to hear about this. I bet the paper would run anything you would care to submit.
