One of the last 355 ever made?

What is the VIN?? I can't understand that language..

 

Ferrari stopped production in late 1999

 

Mars = March in German IIRC. However, I can't see where it says that on the ad. I ran th text through an online translator and only got a partial translation:

Not sure if this helps - the translation is so poor it doesn't really give me any insight.

Could the car have been made earlier and not registered until 2001? That'd be my bet.

 

the last batch of 355s were the Firano. THe last one is in the US in a musum or colleciton somewhere, and # 99 is here in Toronto with the second owner and #97 is out west in Vancouver at the dealership at Ferrari for sale (as of last month). Dont know of any later produced cars in reference to the 355. All of them are 99s. Seems like a plain 355 to me, maybe regist in 01 like you mentioned.

 

Erstzulassung = first time registered (issuing of registration certificate). It doesn't mean the car was made in May 2001, since the last 355s were built in 1999.

Just a few notes on the above comments.
The last US/North American 355's were all Fiorano Series Spyders, however it is all but certain that some additional cars were produced for the export/European market after the Foriano series. Plus 4 additional Fiorano's were produced, 1 for So. Africa and 3 for Italy.
Number 100 of the series is in Fla and owned by a former concours judge for FCA.
Thanks for the clue to #97. I will follow up. Can you provide any additional info on #99. I have it as Rosso Corso, Black interior, manual but no VIN number.
