There's a local 348 Spider in that same color combination, it's stunning. Shame somebody's put less than 6000 miles on that car
He's calling California Blue but that's the color on Valeria's 308GTB. It's simply called 'metallic blue' and it goes all the way back to the Dino, per conversation with my uncle, who had it on one..... That is a darn good looking car...blue/cream, like my #22641. It's also close to 'Mecom Blue' that was on the F50 here for a while.....and the '66 250LM.
It is fantastic in low light conditions....on her 308GTB it's awesome! I've had women compliment it at stoplights, who didn't know what a Ferrari was! Of course, her car sat unsold at Ron Tonkin from 1977 thru Summer 1980!
Well, ALL the various shades are azzuro.!!!....this was simply called "azzuro metallica" when introduced, back in '74 -'77 they didn't have number codes. A competitor at the '04 FFQC had the sample ring of chips, held it to the car for a perfect match!
It's Azzuro California. Azzuro means blue, which would explain why he called it California Blue. It's not simply 'metallic blue'.
Hard to say from the pictures, but light blue metallic is definately it. I'm sure it has a code number now, as currently five or six blues are available from the Factory... I was talking about back in the Dino/early 308 era......
BTW Mike, and anyone else, the guy that runs Eurospec is a crook and to be avoided. Just a heads up to anyone thinking about buying a car from him. Bad business.
Azzuro California replaced Azzuro Monaco in 96 or 97 IIRC. 95 355's had Azzuro Monaco, which was a little darker IIRC. I don't have chips on this box to post, correct me if my recall fails me.
