In all seriousness though, I don't think that what Bruce does is any different than when someone in Tech Q&A fabricates a custom upgrade for a mechanical issue and then offers to make duplicates for other owners of similar cars, usually just making enough money on the deal to cover their own costs. It's simply good, old-fashioned decency.

 

Decency is such a funny word when YOU say it...

Bruce, since I'm retiring, I think a good second career would be to sell the pumps with 24 volt batteries rather than the 6 volts. WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!

 

I think what Bruce does is truly gracious....By your post, it shows the difference between you and him. You are someone that is all out for yourself. Bruce is a true class act, a success person that gives back to the world that gave him so much. As someone that got hit by the storm and lost power for 5 days, I was touched by Bruce's offer to help someone out in need...I personally did not need any batteries ( have tons of them laying around) which is the reason why I didn't ake Bruce up on his offer. I personally offered to sell people phones on this site, get them for them if they needed, or if my cost was greater then another competitor, would let that person know where to find the phone cheaper and never asked for a dollar. I have made $0 dollars and have asked for nothing in return from the few people I have helped out...It's not always about the money...I have some things that I would like to sell or would like to let people know that if they need new cell phones, I can help them out...but I have been afraid to offer it because I am not a sponser, and since I make $0 dollars on it...don't plan on being one...

On a side not...there is a guy named RAYWHEELS posting in the classic section trying to sell tailight treatments for 348's...He is NOT a sponser and though I think what Bruce and some others do is great, I think he is in violation and I think the reason the rule was made was to stop people like him taking sales from NaPerformance (who is a sponser). I think its a good rule and as with all rules, should allow for discretion.

 

So many members here want to help. I think that we should have a section that people can look at if they need anything. There are a ton of people here that can do so much for other people and do not want anything in return. In B&I its a lot of consulting which is a product (not a tangiable one) but still something.

Maybe we can have a section for subscibed memebers so we can post what we are willing to offer for free to help other friends on the boards. No hidden agenda

Your probably right, but a do question how much truth was underlaid in that sarcasm. Though Martin does have a reputation for being honest and selling good cars at good prices, I think both his post and Bruce's both mirror their true personality traits...

Dude, Martin really was being sarcastic... Martin and Bruce have known each other for years and Martin is just taking a political jab at how the "system" works around here somtimes... He most certainly means no disrespect or ill will towards Bruce...
