Just over a year ago, my wife and I purchased a 2007 430 Spider with around 3K miles on it. A year later and the car has around 7K miles and has been relatively flawless in its performance. The only issue occurred about 3 weeks after the purchase, when a couple of the engine valves needed to be replaced. However, the dealer (Ferrari of Newport Beach) took care of the cost including the tow.

I just had an annual service done at the dealer. The only major issue was the exhaust manifolds needed to be replaced as they were cracked. The dealer said the cost was covered under the emissions warranty and had the car back to me within two days. As a point of reference -- clutchwear was only 25% (75% remaining), which would imply a useful life of around 25K miles.

My wife and I took the car for dinner last night and the shifts seemed to be a little smoother than before the service.

So far, Ferrari ownership has been a relatively pain free experience. On top of that we've had great fun driving it, and have gotten frequent waves, thumbs up and generally positive comments from others. As always, thanks to everyone on FChat for the great information that is available on this website.

I'm in a similar boat - about one year ownership for me on an 05 430 Spider with 5k miles. I've put on 4k miles, been a thrill!

Only issue I had was a clutch PIS adjustment.
    Recent annual was flawless.

Wife and I just went out on a date last night in it, always a special event.

Be aware that the useful life of the clutch cannot be measured accurately with the clutch wear reading. Once you get to around 75% used, you will start experiencing problems such as the tranny jumping into neutral all by its lonesome.
