    Howdy,
I purchased my 328 in September of 2008, drove it from California to Central Oregon, and it has been a busy year. I didn't drive it as much as wanted, but sill put 2500 miles on it, all on nice mountain winding roads.

I have had no issues with the car. I took it to a local mechanic to have it checked out and I was nervous the whole time. I felt I almost knew as much about the car then he did, thanks to ferrarichat! Then Brian gave me the best advice I could of gotten, which is have a Ferrari mechanic work on the car, not a mechanic that works on a Ferrari. I then took the car to the "local" dealer {Brian was to far away ;-( }, 3 hours away, had the oil and brake fluid changed, and had the car inspected. I felt good knowing that a real Ferrari mechanic was working on the car.

A year later, no issues with the car, except the zipper on the trunk cover is not working like it was. Now, I am taking the car in for a "minor service".......yep, bearings and belts, since they were done at the 30k service in 2004. I was going to do it myself, but I found the dealer was offering a decent price for the service, and they will check out all the other possible issues, like checking the water pump, cam seals and the like. Plus, the car has a excellent service records, so I thought keeping those intact would be a good thing.

So, in the morning I am off for a 4 hour drive, and will drop off the car. I am excited for the drive, since it is going to be in the 60's and the roof will be off.

I am very happy so far with the performance and how issue free the car has been. I can't tell you how much I enjoy this car. If you are thinking of getting one, do it soon, your just missing out................. And thanks to all of you for helping out through this forum......

    Enjoy,
    Bob

Hands down, 328s are the Ferrari to buy and drive.

I know a lot of lurkers here vacillate about which model to buy, can they afford it, will the car explode the day after I buy it, etc. There are plenty of Ferraris that will bite you badly, but if you get into a good 328 you've made the best move in Ferrari-land.

The next step up is something from the Daytona/246 era, where you cross the border into undisputed classic territory. But the money involved -- and reliability -- will not be on par with the 328.

3 years and about to do belts etc put 15,000 KLM on her and still every drive makes me wonder why would any one buy just a car. 89 328GTS that runs better every time I drive her. They are a special car that are far under rated. 20 years old and look and drive better than most other sports car plus " a good ferrari is like a fender stratocaster, its not a guitar it is rock and roll! " I love that quote.

Plus it's a real classic with all the right shapes and sound. Almost universally recognized as a Ferrari (except for those few that still thinks it's a corvette with a body kit). Great reliability to boot. Can't ask for more...

Well alright, more hp and better brakes would be nice but I don't go that fast!
