Status report... The Sparco Roadster seats arrived today and MAN they feel just right. The Roadster's have both bottom AND side mounting so this will make my life MUCH easier when it comes to mounting them in the car. The concern of seat height should not be an issue as my head is about 1-inch above the Roadster's back. Also, due to side mounting i can eliminate the unnecessary sliders and have a custom bracket mounted for my preferred pedal length and seat angle to my exact specs They are very comfortable, more so than the hard stock seats PLUS the covering is removable so i can add padding if needed. The car should be here from the suspension and other upgrades late next week so i can begin the seat project and four/five-way harness mounting. Will take many pics and write detailed report accordingly.
Going to replace my seats w blue fabric OMP or SParco or something when I respray my 308 from black to Azzurro in the fall. Hey Steve , do you get to Boston or NYC much ? I'll be up in Ct this summer end of May till end of July. Let me know when you are in the hood & we can catch lunch somewhere
William... pm sent as far as NYC. As for Boston, can meet there almost anytime but would prefer to meet somewhere inbetween or BETTER STILL come to my place (only 1 hour away) and we can go over things in high detail. ALWAYS glad to help. Have been doing MUCH research here and am documenting it all.
Snatch this pebble from my hand, Glasshoppa... http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=214630&postcount=40
WAX, Many thanks! My apologies, have been DEEEEEEEP into the project. Have a feeling spacers will not be needed as i purchased the OMP 730HC low-height seat brackets (as pictured below). This means i should be fine on ALL account, but even the best laid plans of mice and men can be trashed FAST... and we ARE talking about a Ferrari here(!). Will keep everyone posted and MANY MANY thanks again Wax. ALL help is ALWAYS appreciated!!!!! Car should be here Friday or so and will being the seat project on Monday April 26 FYI: Decided against the stock Grade 8 bolts for moutning the seats to the brackets. Went with grade 12.9 steel instead
I replaced the brakes on both my 512TRs with F50 brakes so my mechanic is seeing if he can mount the 512TR brakes on the 308 I'm thinking of putting GTO fenders on my 308 before I respray it but I'm not convinced yet
Will, tell me how it goes with that upgrade. Also, where is your mech located? And final thing, are brembo F50 brakes the same as the brembo GT brakes?
Omar my mechanic is in West CT aboout halfway of the state. I dont know what Brembo GT brakes are so I'm afraid I cant answer you. These are the brakes that came with the F50 by Brembo
Brembo DOES offer a brake upgrade kit for the 308. Kinda $$$ yet they are said to be VERY good. If you want a less expensive alternative dump the stock pads for EBC Green Stuff and you will notice better, crisper braking ability. At the same time i would suggest upgrading the brake lines to steel braided.
