Hey guys, doing a bit of a feasibility study and thinking about opening a online poker room. Just wondering how many people here at FCHAT play online poker? Any information on how often you play would be great as well - and typical hand size. Thanks!

I play Pokerstars, played a lot more during the summer when I had more free time. By any chance would you be Kennys older brother?

I play Party Poker and Paradise poker a little bit..... But comparing online poker with a good Winner Takes All No Limit Holdem Tournament with 8-10 players... It's ind of like comparing jagging off to internet porn with screwing a real live woman.

    hah.

I play on PokerRoom sometimes but I live right next to Atlantic City so I play live games usually. Good luck with starting an online card room. From what I hear it's a total pain in the ass and costs a lot of money, not to mention the competition.... literally thousands of sites exist that already have the market covered. I'm sure you already know all of this though. Also, as a shareholder of the World Poker Tour, word has it that in the next few months they're coming out with their own online poker room as well. I hope that happens and is successful though for the stake of the stock. Anyways, good luck man. Oh yea, if you ever get your site situated and need some advertising (which of course you will) drop me an email, I'm the Marketing Executive for Casino Player Magazine, I'll hook you up with some good rates.

Thanks for everyone's responses. I'm doing a feasibility study here since we can essentially generate mass volume at our poker rooms with large title sponsors. I know very little about the poker room business but learning each day now.

Any other thoughts by anyone? What makes a poker room 'good'?

I think ease of use is a huge plus. Its really frustrating to get into a room or program and not know what to do and which buttons, tabs, bars, etc do what. Also, graphics at the table and in the room are always nice.

BTW-you did myphotoalbum.com right..?? Kenny recomended it, very nice job, I like it a lot!

Thank you for the compliments, yes, MyPhotoAlbum.com was one of my projects. I have currently left MPA to pursue some other interests, of which you can contact me to learn about if you wish. MyPhotoAlbum is backed by FortuneCity.com Inc., a great company and great people. I left them with some great ideas for the future, and I know some of the ideas that they are working on will bring MPA to the forefront of the online photo sharing market.

As for poker - ease of use is the most important...I'm learning that from a lot of people. What about payment companies to interact with? Netteller?
