i'm selling my 1990 Alfa Romeo SZ. Mileage is 3500KM (about 2174 miles) the car is in perfect perfect running condition. Everything works (including the clock) I did a full service on it a few months ago-belts, fluids, etc..it needs nothing. It's a very early car-the 18th produced, of the 1000 made, so it has some interesting minor differences from the later cars. It has all books, tools, and the signed certificate from zagato. I changed the exhaust to a stainless system for a fruitier note, but of course i have the original-also, i bought the squadra corsa chip, which gives the car an extra 15-20hp, but it's not been installed. In terms of defects, well, there are the usual hilarious panel gaps that all the sz's had, and a few microblisters on the paint. This was common to ALL sz's, it's just a question of how bad, and on this car, the paint is very good. There's also a small abrasion that's about an inch or so long on the driver side bolster (see pic) The car is very original, and registered in NY. $109,000 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Phil, OF COURSE you would be the one to offer this! I love it. To anyone considering one of these, I've look at several for sale in Europe and the fiberglass bodies are usually horrible. This is pretty much as good as you can get. Don't pass on it if your only reason to do that is because you think you'll find a better one. GLWS, Phil!
hahaha! thank you...i looked at three before i finally bought this one-it's amazing how quality varies from car to car... i would consider a trade, for your f40 (you'd have to give me some cash too, of course...)
I looked at one that had cracking so bad in the hood that they put leather straps on it to keep the hood in place. No kidding.
Man, I LOVE these cars but the timing isn't right for me. I can imagine that it'll sell quickly. Best!
well, i'm flexible-i'm sure we could work something out...do you have any beachfront property you could throw in?
here's a few more! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Hmm, just the mansion in Palm Beach. I still don't know if that would square it up though. I mean, your SZ doesn't even need leather straps to keep the body work from flying off. I mean that's like, I don't know, priceless!
leather straps are so 1960's...i have carbon fibre ones on mine (that's extra though) i see we both have (or used to have) bmw m1's!..i love that car!
The last one I looked at buying needed the leather straps because presumably the fiberglass bodywork wasn't in good enough shape to keep hood in place at speed. There was a little language barrier in the conversation but that's how I understood it. Sold my M1 to buy aforementioned palm beach mansion… j/k. It was a wonderful car but wanted to add a couple of other cars more suited to the driving I do here in the Colorado mountains. Image Unavailable, Please Login
i've gotten a few emails asking me about the price...-so here are the sad facts ...a year ago you could find low mileage sz's all day long around for 55-65euro..if any of you have been following the car market, prices on interesting and rare cars from the 80's and early 90's have been rising considerably..these days, a comparable mileage sz is around 75-85k euro.....and higher mileage ones are 50-65k euro....so add in shipping, customs, etc...and my car is a bloody bargain (plus, it's the only one for sale in the US)
Do you have paperwork supporting the federalization of the car? I didn't think these were on show and display but I could be wrong
Man I dig these-another daring design by Alfa. Looks like a bimmer M5 on Italian steroids...I wish they sent more of them over. GLWS!
Yeah, are we quite sure these are US legal (for street use) ? Reminds me of the time several years ago when I tried to get a Maserati Ghibli II over here and get it registered for the street ---- it was.... no way..... no how.
