Only passenger peg for floor mat fixation?

    I've had an '08 F430 Spider for 6 months now and am getting around to getting some nice floor mats and just realized that the passenger side has a factory mat with 2 grommets and 1 peg (right slide of floor) to fixate the carpet. The driver's side has a cheap aftermarket mat and no floor peg. Does the peg come with the mat and the previous owner only installed it on the passenger side? This makes no sense to me...

    My 08 F430 has two pegs for the driver's side and no pegs for the passenger side. Seems this is a random detail low on the factory's priority.

    They go missing all the time, if you look (very) closely you'll probably find a hole for the peg in the carpet. Just order new ones, very cheap. 11, 12, 13 in the diagram.
