They're looking the wrong way. A boost to the brand would be..oh..I dunno..a decent looking automobile? That would be a good start.
Wait a second, you're suggesting that making the car look like an S600 mated with a blue whale wasn't a good move??
I always thought it looked like a stretched out Cadillac that had been in a few accidents and had the original parts replaced by cheap aftermarket parts The representatives in the Maybach booth at the Chicago auto show weren't too happy when I told them that last year
Remember the hump-backed Cadillac Seville? Stretched? With an aftermarket front grill, two tone paint and some shiny wheels? ONly thing missing is the 'landau irons.'
While the looks don't necessarily appeal to me, there is something to be said for flying under the radar. You might as well have a marching band announcing your presence when you pull up in a Rolls.
LOL.....a blue whale cross with landau irons on the rear quarters !!!! You guys should be in literature instead of law.
I've seen a few of the new ones around in traffic. It's an okay car if you've never seen a W140... Any thoughts on how cheap they will get? I've already seen a 57 with 4k miles on it for $189k.
Yea, but those sell. I think it would be in Maybachs best (financial) interest to come out with that Excelero concept. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I like its design (save the headlights) better then the new S class. Then again the new one is OVER THE TOP.
$325k - $75k = $250k. You'll still loose another $100k when you drive it off the lot. Based on the price Crown Mercedes was quoting on the used on they had, I'm guessing wholesale is somewhere around $150k right now...
I agree-- it looks like a badass locomotive that decided it didn't want to be confined to a rail anymore.
No, a 57. This car was available for $189k: http://www.getauto.com/autolinks_cardetail.html?x_dealer_id=AAG%3CN&vinNum=WDBVF78J14A000873
My pick on this : You want a limo to be driven : Buy a RR phantom . You want a beautiful sedan that you will drive : 4p or Arnage T
Yea, my mom (realtor in Dallas) had one when I was young as well. The thing ran all day long and we never had a one single problem with it.
