    Hello all,

I have a 348 ignition barrel with corresponding key that has a problem: impossible to turn the key to start the car, although the key is the right one (see picture 1). I decided to open the block and noticed the thin yellow ring that is placed around the internal lock cylinder was out of position (see picture 2). I opened it up further and some small bits fell out. I managed to put all small bits back in position (5 very tine bits on the cylinder itself and one L-shaped metal bit on the back side of the cylinder), but 1 very small bit remains and I don't know where that goes. But let's start with the yellow ring: I know it is used to hold the key in position (off-on-engine start) but don't know what its orientation should be. The reason why the key didn't turn is the fact that due to the misplaced yellow ring, the vertical pin isn't pushed down far enough to make the key move (picture 3).

    Has anyone done this before?
