    That is such a cool plane.If i get time i will go and see it before it leaves.When i was growing up in Calgary i used to ride my bike out every now and again to see the lancaster that was on display at the old airport just off Mcnight.A few years ago they had a he 111 fly in. Now that was one of the best things i have ever seen..

    I remember getting my rent-a-car in Detroit for Thunder over MI in 2006 to hear the drone of several merlins to look up and see the lanc. flying overhead. Very cool sight unfortunatly I did not get to willow run to see her land in time.

    I imagine that this is the one that I saw at Abottsford in 1990, I think. I was very impressed by the singular sound of the four Merlins as it flew by and then I thought of the thousands of British airmen who lost their lives in the night time raids over Germany when the Germans were shooting them down with night fighters. The B-17 was touted as the greatest bomber of WW2 but the Lancaster carried a much greater load and had almost the same defensive armament and did a marvelous job.
