I recently put an Xpel clear bra on my car, and while doing it added a "carbon fiber look" 3M wrap for the exterior side skirts. My car has the front wings, B pillars, interior door sills and rear diffuser in carbon, so I want to complete the exterior CF look. The surface of the material has more of a matte finish than the factory carbon, but I thought I would try the wrap before spending the money on real carbon sills.

I'm not sure how it will hold up over time, does anyone have any experience with the durability of a wrap over time? How long before it looks ratty?

Looks pretty good in your photos. I have the same set up in my '14 with the CF but left the side skirts red with the XPEL. There was a 2010 being sold she I picked my car up that had a CF wrap and with 3000 miles and it looked just OK. I personally think it's too dull and looks like a wrap but that said I think it's a good way to see if you like the look before committing to the real thing which I'm sure is over 10x the cost of the wrap.

I think it looks pretty good and a lot less expensive. Nice job!

That's good to know as I plan on driving 6-8k miles per year. Thanks.

Very nice. Did same on white 458. Advantage is inexpensive and can be replaced or taken off anytime. Add protection and imo defines lines of car better. Enjoy. Best

A dark sill makes for a slight "coke bottle" visual effect and enhances the pontoon like design of the rear fenders. I have a preference for plain flat black but from a distance the C/F style wrap is hard to distinguish from that.

Looks pretty good! I'm considering wrapping mine as well. Not sure if I'll go c.f. look, or just a black finish.

In the end it's just a cosmetic thing and the real deal is sooo expensive it's difficult to justify. Would do the same as you, over and over again.
