When I had my 308 shipped from California to Colorado a few years ago, I was amazed at how little Horseless Carriage actually charged to move my car.

It looks to me like all the things you like about the car outweigh the cost and inconvenience of moving the car back from California.

why can't you go to cali? on parole? :) just tack an extra grand onto the selling price of your car to cover the shipping and have it delivered to your door. car does look nice though myself i prefer the stock wheels. are they included with the car?

I own property in CA, so I'm there on a regular basis.
I just wish it were in a 300 mile range so I could just go look and pick it up.

I dont know if it has the stock wheels or not.
I personally hate "roll'n on fourteens" so the upgraded wheels are a major bonus in this car.

This car has been for sale for quite a while. I've seen a couple previous threads about it and as I recall some guys on the forum knew a little about its history....

I don't remember anything wrong with its past, but wait a while 'til they chime in with what they know.

    Good luck,
    Jason

Joe, didn't you just get the GTSi earlier this year? I regret that I haven't made it up your way to have a look - why selling so soon? PM me if you wish, I've been looking for an 88 Mondial, but if yours is priced right .....

Yep, I purchased the GTSi out of Chattanooga area less than a year ago.
I am wanting to sell my car, add cash and upgrade a bit to a 4V car.

The '80 has been a great car for us, and was our entry into the Ferrari world.

If you are looking for a very well maintained, and inexpensive way to get into one of these, let me know and you can come up to check her out.

Just judging by the ad, I think it looks like it is priced just right. My car is very similar except red, similar milage and all. FWIW I Recently got divorced and the appraiser I hired appraised my car at $37K, I told him he was nuts but my own attorneys insisted that he knew waht he was doing.

The mother F'r told me my car was worth 6K more because it was red...rediculous!

Joe, the QV won't give you any noticeable performance bonus - it's something pretty miniscule like 18hp. Even the 3.2 QV is still a pretty slow car by modern standards. If you're going to make the switch do it for condition/color, rather than performance.

You can put QV wheels on your '80 and it'll look the same!

    Thanks for the advice.
I will do some thinking over the next week and decide what direction I want to go.

I actually inquired about this car well over 1 1/2 years ago. Then, the car was in Sarasota, FL and was for sale through a samll dealership. The car was supposedly originally owned by an airline pilot, and he is the one who did all the aftermarket baubles. The car was then sold to someone in Texas who had it for sale a number of times on Craigslist; I think The Sports Car Co likley bought it from him. I'm not certain of what has (or has not) been done pursuant to the major service and such.

There is another 83 QV for sale on Ebay that is a Euro car and seems like it might be a good by...IF everything checks out. Not sure what your smog laws are in your state but I would certainly go Euro if it were feasible.

    Cordially,

    Scott

Sounds like this may not be the way to go. Im concerned that it has been passed around like a 2 dollar whore...
I will continue to look around, and will certainly look for Euros instead.
