......well, I am replacing all my hoses during my 30k engine out. I am going to silicone and I was wondering whether you guys thought that stainless steel T-clamps are a better way to go. I know they cost more but considering the potential damage caused by leaking/loss of oil etc it seems like good insurance ...is this overkill????

    thanks, as always..........

i should think that aba or norma clamps would be sufficient.
norma is oem on many ferraris and are made entirely of stainless as long as you specify "w4" composition.
norma's torro line carries that spec. they are the worm-screw type with smooth band around the hose circumference.
aba also carries similar products. aba is usa based.
west marine, mcmaster-carr, pelican, newco products are just a few of the places these clamps can be purchased.
if you intend to go all-silicone, you need to investigate which clamp is suitable for that application.

If you inspect the clamps carefully you should get great service from the original clamps. Most people are concerned with originality and you can replace them as needed. One note on the silicone hoses: all the clamps had to be re-tightened after a heat cycle when I switched to silicone. YMMV
