As soon as I bought my 308 I had visions in my head of what my engine could/should look like sans the stock factory air box. With the factory air box in there I feel like I am getting cheated, like going out on a date with Angelina Jolie while she is wearing a snuggie. So I have been reserved to the fact that the box is going to go.

I now have my car up and in a driving state, Webers could still use some tuning though, and am at the point where I need to decide what to do. I have read through virtually every thread on the subject on F-chat so I have a basic familiarity with some of the options out there. I am just curious if some of the folks who have gone this route care to chime in with their experiences.

I have spoken with Mike Pierce about his options, which look pretty good. I have sent an email to Superformance regarding their setup that has yet to be answered. In fact I have not found anything on the web, including Superformance's site, about their setup save for F-chat. I am wondering if they are still available. I like the looks of the Superformance pics that I have seen on here, and several folks said that they were attractively priced as well. Gene Berg's pieces look nice too, but are a tad more expensive than the Pierce setup.

Also wondering if there might be some other options out there that I missed. I have searched around for some sort of generic Weber setup that might be able to work with the ‘siamesed’ throttle bodies on the DCNFs with no avail. I am aware of the individual K&N air boxes and air filters as well but still prefer being able to see the throttle bodies in all their glory. In the interim I might just cut my own screens to fit around the stock throttle bodies.

I went with indivual air filters because I didn't have room to put the regular airbox on after I went with stainless fuel lines.

I have found no difference in the performance, but I have not put the car on a clock either. The sound is more raw with more sound coming from the carbs. My carbs need to be gone through too. I just haven't not done it yet.

If you decide to do the changes, save your original parts. It'll help if you ever decide to sell your car.

    Good luck with it.

i routed more intake to the air cleaner from the drivers side scoop using pvc elbows - much better breathing and the sound from the drivers seat is just as good as from the passenger seat. - and i can still get to my oil filter when needed. i also have installed twm throttle bodies and electromotive.

Funny you should ask. I emailed La Scuderia Rossa on 10/10 when Doug sent me that link. I just got an email back today that asked if I received the quote. I emailed back telling them that was the only correspondence that they had with me over the last ten days. We'll see how long it takes them to respond to that one. You think that businesses would be a little bit more interested in selling products in these economic times?

Yeah, I've Emailed USACOMP three times for a quote on some TS wheels and have yet to receive a response.
