Hey everyone, we currently have an offer from FABspeed in Ambler, PA about creating an exhaust for 550 Maranellos; and they want to use our car. They want our car to create "template." They will probably be doing cats, x-pipe, and muffler. They will also be dyno-ing the car several times. Do you think this is a good idea?

Gahh used my car for the first 550 Daytona seats with the stiching and piping I requested. They did a fantastic job, and it was free of charge.

A whole bunch of folks you don't know getting in and out of your car, while revving it over and over again.

I think in the long run it would be cheaper to buy the exhaust if it's any good.

    my 2 cents.

In my case I had the seat leather removed and shipped it to GAHH.

All the in and out of your car is a good point.

I should also add (in an unrelated event) I had my last 550 destroyed by a shop doing work on it.

I would be very specific about what they can and cannot do with your car IE: test drives, etc.

Are there any deep or invasive strategies associated with exhaust work?

None what so ever, bolt on. The multi piece X pipe allows for far more adjustabilty than the OE system allowing tail pipe centering and depth to be done accutately. Nice piece of work by Troy!
