Does anyone has any info on this car? Your opinions, please? Thanks. Milton http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4602719329&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
I'd be interested in anyone's remarks about the dealer overall, as there are several cars on their website that interest me...
Some jackass asks the guy to show the reverse... Likely. Seems to be a nice car. Make sure there are plenty of service records for a car that old. Be nice to know what has been done to it...And what is going to be needed..
Just got a reply to the email I sent to to the seller, here are the answers: 1. When was the last major service performed on the car? I am sorry but I don't have reciepts for that, I believe it was done 3 years ago, the car does not leak from the cam seal area(well it probably leaks some, but not like a car that needs a major service does and it runs out very well too) 2. Who did it? I don't know 3. Do you have records of all services performed? Only for the minor service that had the shocks replaced 4. With respect to the euro bumper and the red airbox, do you have the originals? are they included with the purchase? I have the originals, at the price listed on my web page yes they will go with the car 5. Has this car ever been involved on any accident, minor or major? Not that I can tell I was looking at this car for a friend of mine, but with these answers, I am not inclined to recommend. Regards, Milton
I hope you're joking! This is a classic 500 mile per year Ferrari garage queen ("enthusiast"-owned, no doubt ) and it's over 25 years old. If the past owners never bothered to replace fluids, belts, etc., the new owner could be in for a wild ride, especially if he actually intends to drive it. In the absence of service records, the prudent response is to assume the worst...
I guess what I mean is that there probably is no major service records for a car with this low of miles. If it was enthusiast ownde I'm sure there would be records of some work. I put less than 100 miles yearly on my cars but they each get an oil change, coolant change, brake fluid flush and fill, and any other issues that come up as well as being started and run monthly. I would assume the worst for this car however that does not mean I wouldn't buy a car with this low of miles. Fear No Queen
The owner may not have realized his potential pool of buyers were going to be receipt anal. Given the '3 year' response, figure the car will need a major service. I'd count on spending $10,000 to play it safe. No Ferrari should be purchased sans PPI, which should uncover any major issues.
