The Richard Mille and Aquapod are really cool, but I like to wear my watches, drive my cars, etc... so the museum pieces aren't all that interesting to me. For me the Safari or 5270 with jeans and a t-shirt is more my speed.
I know what you mean... having the entire Dirty Dozen collection is more my style for daily wear. . Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does anyone have a good Patek contact? I'm ready to move on a 5270 but I'd like to find a good deal on one...
They only have the 5720p now. I have worked with a dealer in the LA area who I can connect you to. The 5270r is now discontinued. I sent you a pm.
Jacek at HQ Milton just listed one. He is a well known and well respected vintage dealer. Probably took it in on trade from a customer. If you want a preowned that is. https://www.hqmilton.com/timepieces/eoexex04/2013-patek-philippe-perpetual-caliber-5270g.001-with-box-and-papers-A515
Thanks! I'm good with preowned, but prefer the blue dial over white. I'll reach out to them anyhow. Perhaps they could lead me to the blue one.
Recent 5970g at auction getting the high number https://www.phillips.com/detail/PATEK-PHILIPPE/CH080118/132 Sent from my BBB100-3 using Tapatalk
After looking at both the 5270g and 5970g, I chose the 5270 with blue dial. I love the look and it's size is perfect/modern. Image Unavailable, Please Login
What is the 2 in the circle on the bottom right? What is the adjacent circle on the left? Is it just a 30 min chrono? Btw. Very nice.
Thanks, guys. Dan - It has a 30min chrono. The circle on the bottom right is a leap year indicator that tracks the 4 quarters of the cycle. The circle on the bottom left is a day/night indicator.
So you got the second generation 5270 - the one with the "chin"- It is my opinion, this will become the most valuable perpetual calendar in the future due to the "mistake" of the dial and its limited production. Its stunning. Congratulations.
Zeitwerk is one of the coolest watches ever made, IMO. An analog movement designed to produce digital time. Traditional complications have been around forever, but the Zeitwerk is quite unique. I'd pick up the non-striking time version and a handful of modern Rolex pieces (cerachrome daytona, BLNR GMT, and D-Blue Deepsea).
I still want the ALS striking time. I'm trying desperately to stay on my wife's good side, but I think I'll end up with one by the end of the year. Just trying to space them out enough she doesn't hassle me about it!
OK - it's time to add another watch. I want to get the ALS Platinum Dato up/down. Does anyone here have good contacts for one in the used market? I've looked at Chrono and TZ, but I'd like to know if there are any other good sources to locate one. Thanks!
