This car sold at the Russo & Steele auction in Monterey last August for $206,000, where I inspected it rather carefully.

    Now the estimate is $275,000 - $325,000.

We have just sold a P400 privately at circa $275,000 to the buyer, but with multiple interest this car could bring in the range the auctioneers are hoping for.

If that lotto ticket in my pocket is worth more than a thimble full of belly button lint i would buy that car. Just because I started my love of beautiful cars carrying around a yellow MatchBox P400 when i was a kid... Still have it.

I think $280k would have been fine.

I was standing next to the owner and he said no Just will keep the car... *pockets are not empty by any measure*
He didn't get what he wanted so he didn't sell it...

Also watched him buy a 50's Caddilac that he had sold a year or more ago for 30k the guy he sold it to did 30 k worth of restoration on the car and this guy bought the car back for 35 k. Smart guy.
