I do not visit club gatherings or the like all too often, because in most cases this would imply longer journeys. A "must", however, ist the OGP ("Oldtimer Grand Prix") at the Nürburgring, typically in August.

When going there and entering the club area parking zone, I since years note that non-red Ferraris are ordered into last row or some other remote zones, whereas the red ones are told to take the first rows and exposed areas.

I feel discriminated. In particular since the owners of the red cars typically are somewhat, äh, over-bling-bling anyway ;) ;) ;).

What is your experience and what do you think about discrimination of non-red Ferraris in gatherings by some official guys? Or is this even an advantage, since the red ones all get scratched by the uncarefully passing spectators and the non-red ones are insofar protected in their remote zones?

    Cheers, Bernhard ;)

I've never experienced it at gatherings. I have experienced it when people say that a Ferrari must be red. Here's the funny thing. I don't think cars since the 360 and the use of the current PPG two stage paint makes for a very good looking Rosso Corsa Ferrari. I think a lot of the other colours are a lot better suited for the more modern shape of the cars. On top of that, I think a lot of the classic cars look great in the other colours as well. As for reds, I think that colours like Rosso Fiorano, Rosso Mugelle, Rosso Maranello and Rosso Rubino are way better reds than Rosso Corsa. However, if it is Ferrari hosting the event, they do like to show off the cars in the team colours. Would I feel discriminated? Not really. Do I care one bit? Nope.
    Life goes on.

Certainly not MY color choice, but if the owner likes it, I have no objection.

    A great 70s retro color!!!! :D

@DK308: Ferrari is the host there, that may then be a simple answer.

But: Many Ferrari models look soooo much better in other colors, like blu pozzi, tdf, or nero, compared with rosso corsa (I personally like the other reds even less). And the guys driving non-red Ferraris are typically more compatible with public (talking of Germany only) ;) ;) ;). For sure will the lady with the pink one be with positive public impact. Thus, I would like to suggest that e.g. blu pozzi cars deserve the first row in presentations ;). OK, pink might be admitted in first row as well, provided my guess with respect to the female owner is correct :D.

I've never seen red cars given preferential treatment at ANY car event.

I've had a few friends tell me they thought Ferraris only came in 3 colors.

I think it's a German thing. I've seen this only in Germany so far. In other countries they do sometimes place the cars by type, but never by colour.
