So I’m curious about the current state of ordering a new supercar - say a 720 spec’d to your perfect preferences. can I just meet with my local Mclaren dealer and move forward or is there a waiting list? Are there market adjustments going on or can you order at msrp prices or even get a discount? I saw a Porsche dealer in CA charging a $120k premium for a gt3 for “CA market adjustment” Is there that much demand, or are they not making cars at the same pace because of chips etc? I’d also be interested in if the process is different at Aston or Lamborghini… Thanks for your input. Hopefully I don’t have to wait until a world economic meltdown to order a spec’d car to my preference to not wait 2 years. Robb
Robb I suspect for a 720 there’s not a wait and you’d be able to spec one quickly with no market premium. If it were a 765 or above you’re probably not getting one without being a prior client and having more than one Mclaren. Lamborghini is more difficult and you’ll probably have to wait on a list for any model, perhaps even if you’re a prior client as their cars are in heavy demand throughout the range. If you need a contact for either shoot me a PM and I’ll connect you with the guys I’ve purchased from to see if you might leverage those relationships. As a longtime customer of both brands I’ve been lucky to keep in the circle with good GMs and sales folks.
