Hello all, Been reading the F chat posts with interest over the past years, and have been the proud owner of a 458 Italia from new, since July 2012. I loved every bit of my 458, alas, I thought it was time to grow up a little more and order my second Ferrari-which I chose to be the f12. I will be heading to the factory early next week to spec it there, and having gone through the atelier experience with the 458, I am pretty confident with the options available- but have few questions that I would love to hear your opinion on. First the colour. I have always owned black cars, including the 458, whilst I really think Rosso corsa is the best colour for the f12- so I will go with it. The question is how to do the interior... I really want to use the new beige traditione, but I can't have on the dash, so thinking of combining it with a brownish colour like iroko/chicolatto but not sure how to colour combine w/carpets. I recently saw a red f12 with Bordeaux carpets and loved it-but this obviously won't go with Bordeaux. At the same time, not sure how clever it would be to get a Bordeaux dash/steering wheel..thoughts? I really don't want the black dash. Second, the wheels. I am really undecided. I don't particularly like either of the options-and actually don't mind the standard wheels. Given the car will be Rosso, also tempted not to get the darker colour to make it more classic looking.. Thoughts ? Third-seats.. Now I LOVE the sports seats on the 458 and I am very anal about keeping them crease free, which was easier with the sports seats as the side bolsters are not that soft. I have been advised by my dealer and few others to go with the Daytona/leaf seats with the f12 though, as apparently the sports seats would be an issue at resale as shorter people find it difficult to see the front. I am not convinced-would love the thoughts of owners/the wider group. Fourth-front camera. Is it really necessary? I mean the rear cam was a life saver in the 458 and is standard here with front sensors-so is the front cam really that useful? Fifth-carbon...no sorts package here-and there are some ridiculously priced carbon options here (carbon cup holder?) and I cannot justify making the whole interior carbon-but thinking go just getting the driving zone. WhAt do you all think? Finally-the exhaust...this car is so fast that the valves opening at 4000 rpm makes this a really quiet car vs the 458 in day to day driving.. Any way of making this better without invalidating the warranty? Many thanks for your help in advance, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and sharing the pictures of the car when it arrives in Jan Trillo
Congrats ! The atelier experience is awesome according to what I have read here. As for the wheels, do not forget there is a 3rd option, available on the official accessories catalog. Our member Roma1280 recently installed them in black. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ff-f12/359099-official-ferrari-f12-berlinetta-picture-thread-82.html
Congrats on getting your order in.. I also have a Rosso Corsa F12 on order and I went with the Couio interior including dash.. I understand that you want the new beige color You might look at how that would look with a coiuo dash. I know I had a car with beige inter and couio Dash that looked nice.. I also went with the forged (optional ) wheels in the dark finish ... of course I do not have the car yet so I do not know how the wheels will look. I also went with black carpet and yellow calipers.. and daytona seats (like the classic look...) I hope this in someway helps .... regarding the exhaust my dealer has suggested the capristo remote as something that would not violate warranty the rest I cannot help you with
1st: A person I know has a Aventador with a really light tan interior but dash is in chocolate brown so iroko and red stitching. At first, it looked a bit awkward but as soon as you get in, the colour combo really made sense and looked REALLY REALLY GOOD! However, search the web for Bordeaux coloured dash+steering wheel. I know that the red steering wheel really goes well with the carbon driver zone. 2nd: The wheels. Now the standard wheels are cast wheels not forged. I'm really anal about my wheels so I went with the forged optional wheels in silver. I find it that dark colours really don't do the car any justice if you want that classic look but that's just my opinion. 3rd: Personally, sport seats are the way to go. Now there is a option to add a adjustable sport seat raiser so you can raise or lower the seats. Definitely go with what you want not the next owner. 4th Front camera not really necessary but rear is a must! 5th Carbon exterior is really a pain in the butt, one scratch or scrape and you have to replace the entire thing not really worth the money. Plus you can always get it after if you really want it.Interior personally only get the driver zone and dashboard cup holders and bridge is not really necessary and always want some contrast between the two areas. 6th Well you can add a valve controller or just bypass the valves so it's always open. I'm pretty sure an aftermarket exhaust does not void the warranty either. Hope this helps!
It kind of depends ... I have purchased several new cars from my dealer . I started pushing him around feb. I spec'd the car in JULY allocation received in July the car is due in November...
Rosso Corsa does not look good on the F12 it is too flashy. The f12 is more of an elegant cruiser. I went with Rosso Berlinetta on my spec. If you are dealing with lots of tight spaces you should get the camera in the front. There is a lift option now for the race seats. For the exhaust I believe you can just buy the capristo remote valve opener for 400 euros, that way you can have it open from immediately and not have to wait until 4k.
Im a red/tan guy. I did the coullio(sp?) dash. I have been ordering all my cars with this dash color. LOVE IT. No reflection from the sun. Highly recommend it. Red stitching is always nice if the exterior is red. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you all for the feedback/comments... I think I will go with the upgraded wheels in the classic colour, and still not sure about the seat...I saw a white F12 with standard seats and also liked them a lot (i never liked the standard ones in the 458)..so I have a decision to make there....Exhaust seems to be easy to sort out, and i think I will skip the front parking cam, as read cam plus all sensors front/rear should really be ok. Armen, looks like a great combo from the picture - is that a couio/beige dash, or is the whole interior couio? Do any owners here have a red/bordeux dash/carpets? if so, could you please post the photos here? Many thanks to all once again. Trillo
Stunning dash... agreed. OP - don't forget to consider red seat belts! IMHO the red carpets looked great at the dealer when they specced an FF for me on their software program, but would one like it long term? Hmmn. Personally, I'd go with tan carpets too, but red seat belts ! I love the Daytona seats, myself, as well - but overall I'm just envious of your decisions!!!! Enjoy...
Firstly congrats, great choice - you will LOVE the car. Colours, wheels, carbon etc are all personal taste so I won't comment on that. I will say that I have the fully electric daytona seats and I love them. If you intend to use the car in the real world I would also recommend cameras and lifter - I have both. I'm getting close to 7,000 miles in the first 4 months and I have savoured every mile
The top of the F12 is couio the bottom of the dash is beige. The rest of the interior is Beige. Here are pictures of my 430 and my 599. Just different ideas for you. Hope it helps. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
