Is anybody in need of a steering wheel for a mid 1960's car ? It came from a late 275 GTB whose new and somewhat corpulent owner has fitted an exact replica of smaller diameter. If anyone has any interest I will post photos etc later today. The wheel is in perfect condition with original lacquer to wood rim. No idea of value but given the number of cars I see with replica wheels I presume there is a demand. Thanks.

Beautiful. Why wouldn't the owner just put it up for the next owner if it's the original though?

Maybe a good point but I would also ask why change the colour of this car from Azzuro with VM 3282 Dark Blue interior to Rosso with VM 3171 Crema hide ??? The obvious conclusion is that the new breed of buyer doesn't give a **** for heritage. With regard to the wheel I wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth when it was given to me. At present I have no use for it but thought someone might have a genuine need..........if not, I'm happy to keep it.

You may want to hang on to it for a while, the owner may ask for it back after he tries to muscle the small diameter wheel for low speed maneuvering in parking lots and such.

There is a reason they put large steering wheels on these early cars with no power steering.

Maybe the new owner is like me. Big wheel's and big belie's don't go together

And as long as you can get it moving .10 MPH or so, it is not too hard to steer.

I suppose. It's their car and I have always said the owner can do as they please...... even if it is hard to see or watch sometimes. ;) For a more significant car than my old 308 though I would have been more respectful of the heritage.

I'd have taken the wheel too though, don't blame you there. :)

Well either good luck with the sale or enjoy it hanging on the wall!! :)

How much for the steering wheel, Paul?

Thank you to everyone for your advice and interest. The wheel has now been sold and flies to the US today. Paul

Check out the interior shot I found of a 275, this wheel is awesome on the car. Some new owner is going to be looking to replace the replacement at some point in the future once the portly owner moves on to something else.
