I am trying to get my hands on the original (UK) list price for UK 246 GT/GTS Dinos each year. Does anybody have any idea where to look for them? Thanks

    Dear John,

I do have the Dutch prices from 1971 from Kroymans (the original price list). Not what you asked but pretty close. I will scan it and post it.

The "Motor" 246GT road test from 1971 (reprinted in Doug Nye's excellent book, "Dino"), lists the base price at 4,200 Pounds, plus Purchase Tax of 1,285.63, totalling 5,485.63. Electric window lifts are shown at an extra 83.55, plus tax. Three years later, when my father bought our car from H.R. Owen Ltd., the bill of sale (of which I have a copy) lists an all-inclusive "special price" of 6,582 Pounds, which includes the Purchase Tax as it's not listed separately. Our car has the electric window lifts. The extra 1,000 Pounds could reflect early 70s inflation, as well as supply and demand.

You might want to check with H.R. Owen. They could well have the info that you're looking for in their archives. Of course, in those days they bought the cars through Maranello Concessionaires in Surrey.

Thanks I've got it - I knew I'd bought all those books for some reason - now if only I actually read them....!
