I know some of you are resourceful, so I'll ask the question...
Can someone provide a list of all Ferrari models with the original MSRP that it was proposed at the time?

Just the base price with no added options, or what people actually paid for them new?

just the base cost, not the crazy numbers you hear about to get ahead of the line...

Reason for my demand is that I'd like to develop a mathematic model of cost prediction of ferraris over time. Crazy goal, I know, but that just interest me...

It'd also be interesting to track price increases of particular models during their run and by how much? The US 430 probably had about 4 or so.

Apparently the 250 GTO was offered at $18,000 back in the 60's...

I have the original Invoice for my '97 355CH, there were no window stickers for them. Dealer cost was 121,125.00, sug. retail was 142,500.00, port prep was 350.00, Destination was 1350.00. No gas guzz tax as there was on the road car version IIRC was $6400.00.

Great start! I am looking for all production models (i.e. kind like the list of the FML). Here is what I got so far... Don't shoot the messenger, I gto the invo from various sources on the web, nothing first hand, hence why I am asking you. Numbers are for the 1st year (US when specific) production, original MSRP, without options

Only good sources I know of would be old hard copies of kelley blue book. Ferrari press releases on new models, or pricing letters to dealers would also be good sources. Check your local library for KBB

P.S. scratch the KBB idea. I just checked several hard-copies dating back to 1986 and they do not list Ferrari pricing at all.

As far as I can remember, the MSRP of a USA spec F40 was well over $400,000. If I recall, I read on here that once all was said and done (taxes, fees, etc....) it would have cost right around $500,000 when new.

During the 80's here in NA the factory adjusted the price significantly upwards....I can recall the very first 85 TR's with an MSRP of around $75K and the last of the 91 TR's were $189k I believe. A HUGE increase over six years.....the price on 512TR's was roughly the same as the last of the TR's, pity the dealership who had unsold TR's when the 512TR was introduced.

I do also remember that when TR's were introduced the FNA had a plan for NA buyers to buy a 288 at the factory, obviously not to North American spec, as I recall one transaction was allowed per dealership. The factory delivery price on a new 288 was around $75K.

    Let's see, a TR or a 288, I know which I would choose!

328 GTS's started in the low $60's in 86 and were around $90 by 1989.

Re Mondial 8....yes they were $64K. At that time the Gray Market was cranking up, I can remember loosing a sale to man who bought a new BB512i for about the same money, can't say I blame. Mondial 8's were astonishingly slow.....

F40's were $399, we sold three new. The final car sat on the showroom floor for over a year.

    Cheers

Your 355 data does not look accurate. I don't believe the GTS was priced below the Berlinetta and I know the spead between the Berlinetta and the Spider was more than $4K.

Is it possible that you are mixing early year MSRPs of one model and later year MSRPs of another? The prices increase over the course of a model's life.

Or maybe you just mixed up the GTS and the Berlinetta price? I thought I remember the spread between the Berlinetta and the Spider being about $10K.

It was probably not the intent of the poster, but I've often wondered about the comparative affordability of Ferraris and this thread has provided some information to estimate that. Below is the data presented so far, processed relative to CPI and median household income. The first chart shows Ferrari prices from 1960 to 2008 in inflation-adjusted (2008 US) dollars, the second chart shows "affordability" (yes, I know) as a multiple of median household income in current year dollars (i.e., not adjusted for CPI).

It's interesting that Ferraris were priced at roughly $100-200K from 1960 to 1980, but then crept up to $200-300K from 1990 to today, while Super-Ferraris have been priced more consistently at $650-750K (all in 2008 dollars). At the same time pricing has crept up from 2-4x median HH income to 4-6x median HH income, while Super-Ferraris have been constant at 14-15x median HH income. So even common Ferraris have been getting harder to "afford" even as their production volumes have increased.
