I am trying to trace the original owner/owners of my 308 - chassis number 22183.

It was originally supplied to Mr Jake Phelps of Laurene Street, Alaska, 99701 by MCM on 10-13-1977

MCM was had written, not stamped in the warrant book, does anyone know who they are/were?

The GTB is Verde Medio Metallizzo (green), although at some time before 1983 it was reprayed white, which is rare in its self and presumably any Ferrari in Alaska was a rarity, so it must have caused a stir, so I am hoping someone knows more about the story.

Can anyone shed any light on the history , or the owner ?

A journalist for Classic car magazine want to write a "life cycle" article tracing the history and stories about the car.

David, You can go through the DMV which will give you at least partial history, particularly if you know the state the car originally sold in. I did this with my '77 GTB #21039. I know a guy that is an attorney who does this for a living if you are interested.

MCM reference is likely to Modern Classic Motors, U.S. west coast Ferrari distributor, located in Reno, Nevada at the time.
P.S. Lovely car you got there.
