Does anyone know what the sticker was on a 1985 308 GTS QV?
I am very curious if there is a record as to how much my car originally cost. Any idea?

I remembered when I was a drooling teenager I would go down to the Ferrari dealership in Los Gatos CA back in 85 and I saw the sticker price of $62,000 for a 308 GTS QV :)

You can also check NADA. When you search for prices, it lists original price.

$61K was the price of an entry level 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house in 1985.

Interesting the $1800 gas guzzler tax back in 1985. Maybe $6000 in today's money?

Yes but 10 and 16 MPG were pretty normal for a typical car then too!

My 1984 Bimmer was rated at 36 mpg!!!!!

It still can do it if I drive with fuel mileage in mind. Better than most of todays cars.

That's a crazy price increase there. My 76 was 32k. Did the economy really change that much from 77-85? Wait, yeah it sort of did.

I like the "Estimated Fuel Cost"....that wouldn't go far today.

Fun info on NADA.com. Not all MSRPs listed by my 87 Mondial was 83,900. Put that figure in a inflation calculator and got a modern price of $166K Was surprised to see an 87 GTB listed at $71K.

Man, this brings back lots of memories as well. Sadly all my brother and I could afford around that time was a Toyota Corolla. At least it was the RWD model with the bullet proof 4AGE engine. Oh, and gas mileage was a tad better ;)

$61,000 for a 308 in 85, so what was the sticker for the 328's that came just a year later, and were people actually paying sticker price or more?

When the 328GTS was released in 1986, its sticker including gas guzzler tax, etc was approximately $64,000. The exact figure is in an old Road & Track I have from 1986. I believe a 1986 328 GTB was about $58,000.

I don't know if they were selling over sticker back in 1986. I do know that in 1989 when my Dad started looking at 328s and before the exotic bubble soared sky high, the local dealers were getting $10-15K over list price. When my Dad and I spoke with the manager one of our nearby Ferrari dealers (back when there were 3 in our area) he said he had just sold his last GTS and it went for $20K over list (bringing it to around $105,000).

    Best regards,
    Dino

Oh yeah. Inflation was nuts. Our house near Seattle doubled in value between '77 and '80. Imports got the double whammy of the dollar falling vs. everything.

I'd be a little suspicious of that one -- 328 have Marelli MicroPlex Ignition (not DigiPlex).

I drove my 84 308GTS QV 940 miles back here (Arkansas) from Virginia and got 23 mpg. I think they missed the mark on the estimated fuel economy and Ferrari owners should demand a refund from the Feds for the guzzler tax.

Speaking of window stickers....does anyone know if there is a way to get either a duplicate or replica made for a 1984 GTS QV? I would love to have one to put in my book of receipts just for nostalgia sake.
