    Pertaining to a 1960 250 outside plug V12:

I am trying to find out what the spark plug wires were that were originally installed by the factory.

I am looking for details beyond 7MM black, solid core.

I would like to find someone with a genuine original reference set to determine any brand or markings that may be on the wire itself as well as the style and brand markings/ID of the boots.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Mike

Kare is correct. Not all of the spark plug wires were black in this era.

Thank you for the information. I still would love to see an original set if anyone has them or access to some for reference questions.

I recall seeing original inside-plug 250 orange rubber spark plug boots (straight) with raised fine marking 'Pirelli', molded in. Regrets, wish I still had that photo. I once asked a restorer where they found 7 mm gray solid core spark-plug wire. They simply used gray flexible vinyl paint to color Packard 440 wire. Here a photo of inside-plug 250 at the factory. Whether gray wires were also sometimes originally used with outside-plug, I have no knowledge. 'Standard' makes a straight orange silicone rubber spark-plug boot (SPP19) - a bit long, but can be shortened (again, this is inside-plug detail). I am not familiar with the original 250 outside-plug boot configuration, except that I have encountered that in the 2nd picture here, black bakelite. Similar used on 1960's Alfa Romeo? Many use the Bosch brown bakelite boot, though I do not expect this is original type. I stand corrected if there is better knowledge.
