Oh...BTW, what's the difference (or similarity) between FCA and FOC? Seems like two clubs going after the same audience with similar interest and objectives. Opinions? Is there a thread already discussing this? For our area -- more specifically south of LA all the way to San Diego -- which Club is more active? More organized? More events? Sorry, but I'm new to all this. Just looking for some cool events that aren't too far away.
They are definitely targeting the same audience. I used to have memberships in both but now only have the FCA. I think it's a personal choice I just like the events the FCA puts on along with the people. It's probably best to see which has the events you'd most like to participate. They both have websites so you might want to check them both out. Best of luck. http://www.ferrariclubofamerica.org/ http://www.ferrariownersclub.org/
I'm attending as are a couple of the "OC crew." What I will be driving will be dictated by Mother Nature that morning! With or without a F car I'm down for a good lunch with fellow FCA members and Jon (for the third weekend in a row!)
Is this a drive or lunch? Cancelled if it rains? I will be visiting from no. cal, so please post as much info as possible. tia Ed
Anyone else interested in the drive down ? I'm in rain or shine, leaving the LBC around 8:15. 1) Grumpy B 2) LouGaudio 3) 4) Image Unavailable, Please Login
we are leaving from my Oceanside shop and intercepting the main group on the 76 Rally actually starts at Ortega Highway and I 5 (they leave at 10AM sharp) We actually should depart at approx 10:20 ish 3528 Seagate Way Oceanside CA 92056 (this address wil not mapquest) NE corner of Oceanside Blvd and Rancho Del Oro (3 miles east of Interstate 5)
Clarification No need to be an FCA member is correct, but there is a $35 charge due to the club (Please ask for Tom Brockmiller) that cover lunch, seating, and other expenses associated with putting on this annual event (FCA Ortega run) I am just suppling the destination location and lunch spot.
All of the photographer positions have been filled for this run, sorry. Just kidding. Jay and I are still trying to find someone brave enough to take on the rain who has an open seat for us. We might just head down and take pics in Oceanside if nobody steps up.
Sorry for asking but could someone post the actual address of where everyone is meeting for the drive tomorrow morning? I have the address for Toms in Oceanside but for the life of me can't find the starting place address. I believe it was on the original flyer but left that at my office. On another note, 80% change of rain tomorrow. If so, is everyone still going? I have yet to be at one of these and not sure how die hard the group is. Jeff
The meeting place is the parking lot at the corner of Ortega Hwy (74) and El Camino Real just West of the 5 in San Juan Capistrano. If you're heading South on the 5, get off at Ortega (74) and make a right at the bottom of the ramp. Go left onto El Camino Real and make a quick left into that first big parking lot on the SE corner. Meet at 9, leave at 10. I'm guessing maps of the drive route will be handed out there, but for those wanting to go straight to the event, the destination in Oceanside isn't on many maps but it's near the corner of Oceanside Blvd and Rancho Del Oro in Oceanside. Looks like it's a couple of miles east of the 5 down Oceanside Blvd, make a left at Rancho Del Oro, go a block North and right onto Seagate Way. The Oceanside group is meeting at 10:20 and will do a loop around Palomar Mountain and Pauma Valley before everyone meets at the facility at 12:30 for the party.
