I have seen this car in the show room. It's a consignment car. The valve covers have been powder coated red as well. Not for everyone. This company aslo has a yellow 355 in their showroom they bought at the Manheim (PA) auction. The yellow one is an F1.

Well, an ostrich skin interior would certainly be a talking point at Ferrari socials... :)

I wonder what the upkeep on them is like?

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I was curious about this, went to see it as I though the Ostrich leather might be alternative, however the car looks awful, complete money over style in my opinion.
I would have preferred to see it in a limited area, but its on the dash, doors, seats, cover. Chromed wheels do look good on the car though. Of course you could spend the cash and get it redone :D

My money says it is an embossed leather, not real ostrich hide. When I was looking at custom seats for my Harley, an ostrich hide solo saddle was about $3500.00 (that's for about 2 square feet of material). OUCH!

An F-chatter William H has a convertible Testarossa that had ostrich. He removed it. I think it was Mike Tyson who installed the ostrich.

Are those factory chrome rims on that car, or aftermarket? I thought you couldn't chrome magnesium wheels. It even looks like the yellow 355 in the back may have chrome wheels as well.

Why would you want to chrome the wheels? It doesn't really matter what the car is but, when you roll up with gleaming chrome wheels, it'll look like a drug dealer or a pimp has arrived. :p

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I like the color combo but a little over the top for me. I have never seen a whole interior done maybe if they didn't cover everything it might be ok.

I do ostrich regularly. It's funny a couple years ago it was everyone wanted coach, D&G or some other kind of designer fabric. Now ostrich is the hot thing. Just as the designer fabrics were 95% fake, so is the same with the ostrich. The only way you could get true designer fabric without peeling it off a pocketbook...lol...was to find someone on the black market that had an in with someone at the manufacturer. Seeing they were produced oversea's you needed a supplier. There are very very few places to get the original and even then it was only particular blends. Clients were coming in wanting purples and pinks and I had to just tell them it won't be the actual designer fabric. Now on the other hand..the take offs are more than good enough to pass without anyone knowing. The advantage is they are plentiful and come in many variety's, but even those can be pricey.

For the ostrich it's a similar story. Designer companies start the trend in clothing and automotive follows. Ostrich for use in cars though is extremely durable and wears well. Again, the real thing comes from overseas manufacturers.

If you are interested just pm me and I'll send you out a sample for free. Kenny

Maybe it is just me but I would not want my car to look like it just got a chill with goose bumps sticking up everywhere. To me, ostrich looks like skin that was taken off a big chicken. :D No offense to anyone out there with it in there car. This thread was about what people thought so there you go. ;)
