Anyone interested in raising some cash for these folks following this event?? They need anything we can spare?? J :-(
Anything that will raise money Noony???Perhaps even you could sell yourself to the highest bidder..lol
ferrarichat band performance! I think a driveout is more realistic...perhaps where we pay £1 for every mile we drive?
Listen folks before you hijack this thread , im serious my Sales Co ordinator was there,, She and her Hubby are missing. ;-(
Sounds like a very worthy cause to me- Joe, I hope your friends are found safe and well. What did you have in mind? Robert.
i have a mate who has a house there by the beach lives there november to febuary then holidays there through the summer and nobody has heard anything from him either
Joe was thinking the same yesterday m8 im sure we can all make a small donation, maybe we all send a cheque to you or tony for £10 or somthing thats a good start theres enough of us in the uk section and it will help, just my thought's duno what you think m8, Dale.
Joe We've got a friend / work colleague over there who we cant reach... I'll do anything to raise cash... Lee
Sticky now. Here's a thread set up in Off Topic . Seems like our donations will be X by 7 if we register with Gentry's charity. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43251
I've just been speaking to colleagues who are also keen to make a donation- we were thinking Red Cross, but we'll see. We are going to pass an envelope round over the next week or so (to catch people currently on hols). Robert.
I thought it a bit odd, but there's no reason to assume it is not legit- and as I see it there's nothing to lose in informing him of your donation.
I followed this link from Yahoo: http://www.bluepeter.redcross.org.uk/tsappeal/appeal.htm and donated £50 (do it. It's really easy). Afterwards I saw Gentry's post in OT. I PM'd him and said I reckon it was worth about $75. He has replied to say that he will match it with a $525 contribution to the Red Cross! Pretty amazing! I guess it's one of those 'sounds too good to be true' things, but there's no risk on your part, so why not?
the co-ordinatoers are on 0870 5060900 you can donate by CC over the phone. they need every penny, my neice left the day before the wave and I have two mates living there, not heard a word. I think this is going to affect us all in some way. God rest their souls.
Im happy to go this route Tony so can we all agree to donate ( if not already done so) You can send to me if you wish?? Tony Chqs made payable to Gentry,s charity i assume?? Joe
Gentry is just matching donations...not sure I'd go thru Houston Texas on my way to Thailand..... Our Fchat section there in SE Asia has some alternatives............ There's a whole lot of people who will not be heard from again...that's kind of how "lost at sea" works..........as a coastal native myself, I understand....... You'll see my comments on that other thread.....I hope your folks make their way home safely........
I note an account set up in Bangkok by some Asia Fchatters to recieve funds directly... What peoples thoughts on this???
Me and parants sis bro put £60 together tea time sis is gona do the rest, if somone send's a £1 it dont matter it's going to help these people and there children, Dale.
Joe, My company will make a donation of £500. If we are not going to use one of the better known charities (Oxfam Red Cross etc), can we please check and double check the one that we are going to use is credible and 100% trustworthy. I dont want to be negative but we have all heard awfull stories in the past about charity money not going where it was promised. These people have sufferd enough already. When you have decided just let me know who to make the Cq out to and where to send it. Hope your people are found safe and well. Regards Stewart
The Unicef site is a good way to donate for those worried about scams. You know the money's going to the right place, and they don't harrass you for further donations* once they've got your details. *Provided you appropriately marked the checkbox on the site.
