Advice/Info from Chief Of Met. Police 6 explosions :- Tube stations; Edgware Road Kings Cross Liverpool Street Moorgate Aldgate & bus at Rusell Sq./Tavistock Advice :- Stay where you are as all public transport suspended. Don't phone emergency services unnecessarily.
mother f**kers, it's always the soft targets. Normal people like you and I, going to work and this happens. I am so mad. My thoughts are with those caught up in this mess and the families whose lives will never be the same again. Like most of us working in the city (well baker street for me) The journey home tonight will be a nightmare. Can't see the transport infrastructure being normal until next week. . . . Rob
according to sky news it was the same MO as Madrid i.e islamists.. Our thoughts are with you all in UK - from downunder
We're just waking to this news here in the Eastern time zone of Canada (and the U.S.).....very best wishes to all. PLease keep us up to date as the newscasters here aren't able to tell us much yet. Blessings, Neil
Just heard from a friend who works for Colt Telecom, who's offices back onto Aldgate East, that there are loads missing and they are not allowed to leave the building at the moment !
Terrible. Just 24 hours ago the whole city was celebrating the olympics, then this happens... On the day of the G8 summit too - conincidence? I know that any people killed is terrible, but it could have been a hell of a lot worse - think 9/11 or Madrid. Condolences to those killed, lets hope the numbers stay small....
Stunned - condolences to anyone who has suffered. As London becomes shut down and grid locked does anyone know if the airports are still open?
Airports and flights functioning normally, but 'reviewing' security arrangements. Trains out of London to airports have been halted.
I am shocked! I hope that the people of London can overcome this barbaric attack. The best form of communication seems to be the internet right now. Landlines and cell/ mobile phones are not fully functional. Take care everyone.
Stuff like this just hardens our resolve against whatever the terrorists want. They're messing with the wrong people if they think it will change our attitude or lifestyle Looks like Zone 1 is shut down as far as public transport goes. I can see right into Cannon Street station from where I am and no trains have gone in for the last hour. Looks like it will be a nightmare journey home but I'm just glad that I'm still around to be experiencing it
My family and I hearts go out to everyone in London. Stay safe guys...... All the wankers involved that have caused this rote in hell !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just stay put and wait for word on when to go back home. I hope that you and your family are fine. I am still trying to get a hold of two friends, they both use the tube to go to work in central London. The phones are still down.
My most heart felt sorrow for those that have lost someone. Hope all Fchatters from the London are safe. Has anyone taken responsibility for these attacks? All Bastards those terrorist!!!
my thoughts and prayers go out to all affected in London - this kinda thing hits close to home with me.
Apparently 10 dead in bus bombing, 9 seriously injured and a number of other casualties Overhead trains are moving again but underground won't re open today
F*CKING Bastards! Hard not to hate a group of people but these guys are ruining it for the peaceful muslims. Especially after 9/11 and this.
The irony is that the very way of life which allows them to go about their despicable business and preaching of hate is the very way of life which they seek to destroy.
Mobile networks are pretty much congested. Landlines are better, since the contention ratios are lower. The best way to contact some one is via the web. If this isn't an option use SMS, thats should be largely unaffected. Hope this is another case of the media exaggerating casualities. And true numbers are far lower.
Guys, just heard some great news that Reggie's son is fine. He was on the Picadilly line near Kings Cross when the bomb went off. He has cuts and bruises but nothing too serious and has been treated in hosiptal He is on his way back to Surrey with his mother. Reggie has been contacted in NZ ! He did tell me that others on the train he was on weren't too lucky and he saw some horrific stuff on the way out.
