I'm looking to treat my parents to some fine dining in Vic. I looked up the AMEX list and they had the following: VICTORIA Café Di Stasio Circa The prince Donovans ezard Fifteen Interlude Jacques Reymond Restaurant Langton's Restaurant & Wine Bar Pearl Restaurant & Bar Radii Red Emperor Stokehouse Taxi Dining Room The Botanical Would you guys recommend any of the restaurants above? Or some place else? What concerns me about the places above is that I suspect they are more about being a trendy place rather than serving good quality food. Ideally, I'd like to go to a place that serves great Italian (northern style preferably) and has a nice ambiance. Thanks in advance!
Heard that the Pearl Restaurant and Bar is a bit dodgy....the chef gets bored and does pearl necklaces in the tucker. You should try Peepees....very authentic northern Italian....have a couple of specialties....mineSStroni, scudlopini, and a great antipasto called ferrarifixerini. The Restaurant recently won the ASNAG award.
I have been to most of them I guess. Here are my recollections: Café Di Stasio (Good) Circa The prince (Very good but expensive) Donovans (Good) ezard (Not a fan) Fifteen (never been) Interlude (never been) Jacques Reymond Restaurant (Superb, Top shelf silver service & Expensive) Langton's Restaurant & Wine Bar (ok food, great wine list but mega $) Pearl Restaurant & Bar (been but cant remember what it was like) Radii (overrated but impressive looking inside) Red Emperor (never been) Stokehouse (very nice, bit trendy though) Taxi Dining Room (very trendy, food nice, location central melb) The Botanical (went long time ago faded memory) Hope that helps
Nobody else would put up with her, so I should be safe. Pee Pee was in hysterics this morning listening to her go off the rails at me
your kidding ? it's central CBD , walk down some stairs off the footpath , has a long bar , hence called the long room http://www.melbournepubs.com/v/1187/
Whilst we're on topic, had a bit of a bummer last Monday Morning. Car was in getting roll cage and a few other things done. Got a phone call to say the place got flooded and the poor beast nearly drowned. The seats and carpets were out but a lot of wiring got a good dunking. Have dried it out the best we can and used all the right hair sprays. There was a bunch of relays but had them tested yesterday and luckily they were dry as a zero's budgie. Received some front discs I'd ordered but the stupid jerks stuffed the order and now its going to take another week before we get them. Gonna be working overtime to try and have it ready for Rally Tas in mid Feb.
