I'm sorry this is not Ferrari related.

How many hours drive is it from Copenhagen to Amsterdam? Mapquest says it 8.5 hours. Is this accurate? Would I save time if I take Rodby-Puttgarden ferry?

    Thanks,
    Raymond

    Hello Raymond,
At least 9 to 10 hours.
If you take the boat to puttgarden I think in total it wil save you 2,5 hours driving. If I remember well, I made same trip 3 years ago, the boattrip takes about 45 minutes, so it will take at least 7-8 hours then.
    Enjoy your trip!!

    Thanks Roel.

Do you know if I have to make a reservation for the ferry? Or do I just show up and wait for the next ferry to leave?

Also depends a lot on the weather, the car and the day and the time you're going. Several years ago, I went from the eastern part of The Netherlands (one hour from Amsterdam) to Sweden. We left at 4:30 in the morning (in a weekend), took Puttgarden-Rodby and at noon we were already in Sweden (Helsingborg, just north of Copenhagen). So, in good conditions, Copenhagen - Amsterdam should be possible in less than 7 hours.

But I guess 9 hours is a decent time to count on ...

In holiday season you have to make a reservation. Out off the season it won't be a problem to get on.

If somebody would lend me a 456 or 612 that sure would save a great deal of time. :)

We're planning the drive on Saturday, March 19th. I don't think it's a holiday anywhere we are travelling. Maybe, we're just going to stop and spend the night in Hamburg, instead of driving all the way to Amsterdam in one day.

    Thanks,
    Raymond

Nope, that isn't holiday season here.
    Have a nice trip.

BTW: is it a holiday trip or just business??

Since you asked, I bought my wife a Volvo XC90 V8 that we are going to pick up in Gothenburg. We plan to do stops in Copenhagen, Hamburg, Amsterdam and finally spend most of our 2 weeks in Paris. I've been to Europe a few time but with limited rental car driving, mostly we just fly in from city to city. So, any driving/travel tips will be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Raymond

    Hi Raymond, :)
I'm living in Denmark, and I just wondered why you will go to Copenhagen!
If you are not going to see something in Copenhagen, I would suggest you take the ferry to Frederikshavn in the north of Denmark from Gothenburg, and it will save you a lot of driving thru Sweden! You would have autobahn/motorway all the way from Frederikshavn to Amsterdam :)

    Best regards

    Carsten

    Carsten,

I love your work. When are you going to start drawing a Diablo?

Anyway, I thought of taking the Frederikshavn ferry from Gothenburg, but my daughter wants to see the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen. I tried telling her that it is just a statue, but she still want to see the statue that is pictured in her books. Other than that, there is really no other reason for us to stop at Copenhagen.

    Thanks,
    Raymond

Hi Raymond, :) Thank you for the compliments!!!
A Diablo should be on my list for future drawings, but I still need to finish off the drawings I'm working on for the time, before I start making new ones :)

I hope your daughter will not be too disapointed when she finally meet the tiny statue....:) After all "The little mermaid" is VERY small and most people gets disapointed when they see her! On the other hand Copenhagen is a beautiful city with lots of things too see and experience, and I wish you a great journey in March with your family!! :):):) Are you going to cross Öresund at Helsingborg-Helsingör??? If so, you will see Kronborg castle (Prins Hamlet's castle from Shakespeare's play) when you arrive with the ferry in Helsingör :)

    Best regards

    Carsten
