    i had jury duty around 3 or 4 years ago. got out of it after 2 days of jury selection. waste of time.

    Hate to go against the grain here, but both my dad and my best friend served on juries (one for a sexual assault trial, one for a murder trial) and said it was one of the most interesting experiences of their lives.

    if i had no job....i wouldnt mind serving on a jury. learn about the legal process. however, since i have better things to do like try to make $$$, looks like a no-can-do.

    FWIW - My mother was called to jury duty about 6 months after she passed away. I had the fun of writing a letter to the state of CT., informing them of this. Guess they don't check up on things like death....

    I've served at the county level in NJ many times. I'm about due.
    (sucks big time....always hurry up & wait for a week)

    and at the state/federal level in Newark
    (So he cut a drug competitor's head off & paraded around with it for a week. Does that make him a bad person?)

    and at the grand jury level
    (yes there's enough evidence to go to trial. But why bother? he's guilty, let's have a public stoning now and save some taxpayer money)

    I got all that learning plus $5/day. What a deal.

    With all due respect to Sam.
    Clearly, there is no justice. Serve & find out why.

    On the other hand....these are people's lives you are playing with. Be careful
