Rennmaus, are you guys celebrating? Rick, you're not rooting enough for your team! "The Poles have struck the pole twice." I'm looking forward to Monday and Tuesday.
It is good to see the national and local media begin to give soccer a little more coverage. I am surprised to hear on sports talk radio in Chicago give scores and include related interviews including the opinion of the Fire's head coach on 670 today, ( the Score is notoriously one sighted and will admit to having a bias to talk only of the Cubs, Sox and Bears. ) Though the US team has its limits, it would be nice to see them upset a few people again. However, I am very interested to see how far England and Italy will advance because many of their legendary players will probably be having their last hurrah. It would be good to see either win for the long in the tooth players instead of ending with years of upsets. For example, Del Piero can't take the kicks for 20 years and Owen's knees can't last that long. Have a safe trip across the pond, I am sure the Chicago crew misses your leadership. I look forward to your return to debate Soyuz like related subjects. RocketBoy
Hi Tifosi12 Trust me... we celebrated!!! Especially since we subscribed to the Sentanta Sports channel (CH 615 on Direct TV), which shows all the games 24 hours and in German language!!! Didn't know there where so many "Sprechen Sie Deutsch" Soccer fans in the US!!!! Shall the best team win....... Rennmaus Just came back from Switzerland, where everything and everyone is: "HOPP SCHWIIIIZ"
Well, it is nice that the Swiss are in it again. They might even advance to the next group. Just like the US, but that's probably as far as the ticket goes. Germany was very impressive and I loved the game they played. Not that boring defensive stuff from other cups. We might see them in the final vs Brazil. How about Dracula on the Paraguyan team? Is he gonna suck some British blood?
France is playing against Switzerland right now: 0:0 Can hear the Hopp Schwiiz croud cheering !!!!! Rennmaus
I think Germany's chances increased dramatically today: They stand a good chance against this Brazil. Way overhyped unless they notch it up in future games.
I'd say we just got a little lucky in the 92 minute !!!!! Lets see, when the Germans get a tatse of " Latino Salsa" in their next game against Ecuador on the 20th! Rennmaus
Tifosi12: Seems that we are the only ones on this thread that are watching the WM2006... Maybe the playoff's should be Switzerland : Germany...... LOL Rennmaus
Actually I know quite a few folks following the games. Forget Ecuador, 6 points is all that is required. Watch the US pack their bags on Saturday. Forza Azzurri!
Keeping all fingers crossed.... The swiss showed us yesterday what to do !! Rennmaus Iguanas don't eat bratwurst, do they ?????
Sorry, I'm rooting against Germany on this one: I want them to take on England, that would be a super match.
Since neither of my allegiances stand a chance (US, Switzerland) in this cup, my support is not really in favor of a team but in great battles. I want to see the titans collide.
I beg to differ: Hopp Schwiiz! Switzerland stands now a good chance at meeting Italy in the quarter finals.
