I have a somewhat medical question for all the doctors and dentists out there.
Last week my one of my wisdom teeth finally (lower left) started to come in and it really hurts. for some reason, only the left side of my throat is extremely sore and only the glands on that side are swollen. I went to a doctor who diagnosed it as a strep infection (white spots in throat, and other signs of bacterial infection) and prescribed antibiotics. These quickly cleared up the problem, however once my prescription ran out the symptoms returned. I went back to the doctor yesterday and now he said i might have infectious mono (which has nothing to do with the tooth). He said this time my throat did not appear to look like it was a bacterial infection. What are the odds that i have a wisdom tooth growing in on the exact side that all the discomfort is on from strep throat, which happens to be followed up with mono...all on the left side of my mouth? For what its worth, the sorest part of my throat is directly behind and below where said wisdom tooth is coming in. I should know by tomorrow if it is strep when the results from the throat culture are back. I just have a hard time believing i have anything viral because of the effect of the antibiotics i was on. Could that area where the tooth (thats starting to poke through the gums) is coming in have some sort of bacterial infection?
    thanks in advance.

Also, its amazing how much cheaper prescription drugs are in this country (Czech Republic). A prescription of antibiotics cost me about $8. Thats less than my copay would be for a prescription back home.
