I agree with you, that is a cool idea.

My question was not directed at the car in your dad's office. You said "maybe we will purchase a gt bentley at downers grove for my 27 year old brother's wedding present." That is the portion that I quoted when I asked how much of that purchase would include your dollars. You often reference vehicles in your family as "ours" and say "we" plan to make future purchases. I'm curious what financial role you play in these purchases. In all fairness though, it's none of my business to ask such things about your personal life.

 

Sounds like you've got a very enviable job. It's great that you enjoy cars so much and get to be around such fine automobiles. Your brother is going to get an amazing wedding present!

 

This kids 14 years old! Talk about speaking out your ass. Check his profile under cars owned. My friend has a 360, maybe ill list that as mine in my profile. No problem with kids lurking, just be honest. You'll get respect and people will take you a little more seriously. Lets get real

His parents owned them (or so he claims). If they really have, then he has every right to list them on his profile. There's a big difference between putting your parents' and your friend's cars on your profile. I believe him, he hasn't posted anything to make me doubt that his parents have owned these cars. Maybe Vic should post some pictures asap as proof?

 

He seems to know a lot more details about these cars than any non-owner would know, especially a 14 year old kid; for example, the cost of a wooden cupholder in a Bentley. Either this is an elaborate hoax and he has really done his research or his parents really have owned these cars. I say innocent until proven guilty.. although I would like to see some pictures

 

Maybe he has owned all the cars because he is not 14 years old. Maybe he is 54 years old, cavorting around pretending to be a 14 year old. But you may be correct webby, he seems to know a bit about these cars than one normally would.

 

First, I have this kid on 'ignore'.

Second, I have no doubt the father has these cars.

Third, the kid is clearly enthusiastic about cars.

However, it's "our" this and "our" that, which is the most grating thing to read on this site. Hence, the jerkoff is on 'ignore'.

 

He did post pictures of the car, to the exact details. He doesn't bother me. The "we" and "ours" talk is a little annoying. I do hope this dad is investing in a good education for him. From the way his posts are written, I get the feeling he needs it.

 

You guys should stop dumping on VK430gt.
I can see how the "ours" thing pisses people off but I used to do it too so maybe I can sympathize.

Instead of insulting the guy, why not educate? If it pisses you off- send a PM. I am sure he will be thankful for any legitimate advice.

Keep in mind he is a lot younger than most of us here, and obvously very proud of things like this.
He is a car guy just like every single other person on these boards which something which we should all keep in mind.

It appears his "ours" and "we" means "the familiy's". Annoying, but you can't really argue it's not true as long as the old man or brother actually does own.

At least he's not calling Roy and car dealers pretending to be a buyer, like Dan.

 

I was nuts into cars when I was 14 so I can see it. Only difference is things like F-chat or the internet in general weren't common... I can see myself on this forum at 14..

 

...but, VK430gt has been through all of this before. In his first series of threads he got bashed until he posted legit pics of his family's cars. While he may be a member of the *lucky sperm* club (little ribbing kid, don't take it personally) he is not a liar and has a genuine interest in the cars he and his family have worked hard to own. So that being said how about we give him the benefit of the doubt.

I also agree that if you have some tactful advice on how to approach certain subjects perhaps a PM would be the best means of communications for our young member.
