We started in Asheville (Hwy 191) and broke off an hour later at Courthouse Valley Overlook to the south. About 10 tunnels along the way and several overlooks. Then came home via lunch in Cashiers. A 9 hour day without any cramps or tight muscles! Of course I’ll probably feel it today.... Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Thanks! Nero over Cuoio is such a classic look. Nero is a little hard to keep clean, but I'd rather drive than wash the car! Our dealer does a good job when I bring it in, but my wife and I wash it ourselves about once a month with ONR and the two bucket system.
Your wife helps wash it?!? You are indeed a lucky man Alex. The most I can get out of my wife is pointing out spots I missed! When I got the Cali, I covered up just about all the remaining bits and pieces that did not have PPF. Avorio also looks awesome when dirty or not! Like you, when I bring it in for service, it gets a nice bath. More time cleaning = less time driving! T
We're from the Boomer generation. If we tried to look like that our neighbors would probably call the authorities!
Tom... I'm really late to the party over here! Still going thru the 19 pages... awesome read. Beautiful pics.
Better late than never! Thank you for the kind words. My wife and I like looking through these pages and reliving the many enjoyable experiences that F ownership has engendered in our 4.5 years, especially now as we're spending more time @ home due to the pandemic. Owning a Ferrari has been a truly enjoyable experience, far beyond our expectations. T
Tom, you're a lucky man that your wife enjoys the car as you do. Mine just sees it as a car and has zero interest in it. It's like pulling teeth to get her to go on a drive with the local FCA. Hell, she still has yet to even drive the thing.
I'm a VERY lucky man!! My wife loves her truck, since she's a native Texan, but she learned to drive in an MG, and her first car was a Mustang, so she likes sports cars too...T
We've had two "top up" rides since we changed out the tires. Hope to take a couple rides a week throughout November. Will put the car in storage in early December. With snow and sleet ahead and no signs of COVID letting up, it's going to be a LONG winter.
Brutal. It'll be sweet though once you fire her up again next spring. Hope you have an early spring! T
Lucky here too! I’ve only done a few solo drives as my wife loves going for drives. Even when we had our track car, the 360C she was in the passenger seat! Good times - enjoy it.
For my friends up north, my annual apology. But...the weather has been gorgeous of late. With the extra hour of sunlight in the AM, it's been prime F driving weather. Image Unavailable, Please Login Took me only abt 90 sec to change to clock back an hour for daylight savings time. A personal best. Of course, the 911 took about 10 seconds, and the Cayenne did it on its own! Image Unavailable, Please Login I thought this was a cool pic. I was driving near the small town of Valley View, and pulled over in the town square to attend to a text from a friend. This is a view of the water tower from the Cali cockpit. T
Image Unavailable, Please Login Ah, excuse me, don't cry for me Argentina. This pic was just taken at 2:15 PM just west of Beantown.
Wow, Paul! That's warm for this time of the year, no? Hope you are using the opportunity to enjoy the F cars. I am assuming from the modern-looking TFT, the above is your FF? Do you put winter tires on your F-cars, or store them for winter? T
We've had some unusually warm weather. I think last night the weather guy said we have had seven 70+ degree days in November, which is a record. Although on Oct. 29 we had 4" of snow! Normally I'd try to drive the 612 as late as possible, but now with the FF (yes, that's the one pictured) I'm putting it away. I was able to buy a set of pristine OEM wheels last Jan. for the FF. I have snow tires mounted on them so I can just do the changeover myself. And actually, in probably another 2 weeks you can start crying for me.
BTW, that pic of the water tower reminds me of a funny commercial I saw many years ago. It was before GPS and this guy and his wife were lost. They were looking at the map and couldn't figure out what town they were in. The guy asks his wife, "Do you remember the name of the town on that water tower we passed?
We had a spate of cold - for us - weather @ that time. Has been gorgeous since then. Taking more drives in the Cali, shorter than usual, but more of them. T
I lived in North Dakota for a year and a half. Believe you me, I know cold!! And, that's why I do my best to avoid it. T
