its was 79 degrees here in Raleigh today! Awesome weather for driving with the top down
83 currently in Houston. Getting ready to spend my day off tomorrow putting some miles on the car. Thinking about driving down to Galveston and just go up and down the coast.
Not that far west. VV is on I-35, north of Sanger, south of Gainesville. Well, it finally happened. After 4.5 years and nearly 22 thousand miles, I finally saw another Ferrari out in the wild while driving the Cali! Dark red Pista, pretty car. Dropped the F-car off @ Boardwalk for a spa day after picking up the wife's Cayenne from its state inspection. Turned 27,000 miles almost literally as I pulled into the dealership parking lot. Should hit 240,000 miles this weekend. T
LOL. I am not sure who washes it, but it sure comes out looking purty! Don't forget, more time cleaning = less time driving. Covering the whole car (except rear boot) in PPF was one of the smartest things I ever did. T
Agree. I just had a satin finish PPF put on my two weekends ago. Gives the silver of my car a nice matte look that I dig. I have a local spot that does unlimited handwashes for $60 a month. That's my go-to spot every Saturday morning. Was not even aware the dealership would do washes.
McG, BF has, as I recall, both interior and exterior detailing packages. Did you add ceramic coating or anything like that to your PPF? Also, why satin finish? Aesthetics? Or, some other reason? T
I just added the PPF. I am a fan of the satin finish look; I had that on my black one. Just a little bit different and makes the car a bit more unique. Here is a picture of it being installed so you can somewhat see the difference. Suttle, but I dig it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, I do. When it got to 30 below and my neighbor said "Cheer up. It should heat up to 20 below next week!" I knew I was in for a world of hurt. I loved my time there. Great folks. I don't miss the weather though...T
Do it! In all seriousness, if your finances are in order, @ your other financial obligations are met, the California is a great entry point to F ownership given their cost, performance and relative modernity. If, after a few years, you decide that F ownership is for you, can always move into something new or keep enjoying your Cali. Good luck...T
Believe you me, we were too! Let me ask you this question (it is the Q my wife & I asked ourselves) - if this car was totaled tomorrow - Heaven forbid! - would it impact your lifestyle and ability to put food on the table? If the answer is truly "No!", hop on in, the water's fine! T
Dimitri, feeling scared about a purchase is normal. Ferraris are exotic cars, prone to having more issues than a Toyota or Honda. You must be realistic about risk. You need to consider maintenance, as well as initial purchase price. Don't buy a car that you can't afford to take care of. You must do your homework to find a good car, and a pre-purchase inspection is important. You will minimize the risk (but will not remove it completely). If you approach it in this fashion, you will be more confident.
Yes, Tom is right. The car is not an investment. It will depreciate. You have to take it for what it is: a wonderful, exciting experience, but certainly not one to lose sleep over. If you feel more trepidation than joy, then Ferrari ownership may not be for you. There are many other "fun" cars available that are easier on the wallet!
Im looking at this one https://www.charlottemclaren.com/2013-ferrari-california-c-998.htm?utm_campaign=deeplink&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=cars.com
White over red, no shields is pretty sharp. Are you OK w/ no shields? I had mine covered up to body color, but I am older guy looking for a low-key F experience. I really don't care if other people know I have a Ferrari, as long as my wife & I and a few close friends know, that is cool by me. But, shields are a must to most people, if eventual resale is an issue. Price seems commensurate with similar '13s with similar mileage. Are you close enough to test drive? I would definitely get a PPI. T
Love the color! Reminds me of another question - do you have another car for DD duties? Or, will the Cali be it? T
No, i didnt see it in person, im in Chicago. We dont have much choices here or the prices much higher Tom, what do you mean by no shields? For now now i have only Audi, and debating to keep it or just take something cheaper because i dont drive to much lately. In 2.5 years i put only 12k miles on Audi
If you look at this one, you can see the yellow Ferrari shields on the front under the A piller. This is an option on Ferraris.
